On Friday my 3 year old nephew said to me 'I want a cuddle with your baby' ! I am 11 weeks pregnant, we haven't told any one yet that I am pregnant or that we have been trying so there would have been no reason for him or anyone to have mentioned anything like this to him. Do you think this is just coincidence or has anyone else experienced anything like this? It freaked me out to be honest and took me by surprise lol. X

A friend of mines 4 year old knew when another friend of hers was pregnant before she did! This was a couple of years ago. I don't know any 3-4 year old to hang around with to see what they say haha x

This is interesting.. today my dd (5) has put her hand on my tummy twice now and just smiled. I wonder if they can sense it xx

My toddler at first smacked my belly as if he was hitting a sibling and then hugged it and stroked it better. He’s 19 months and has never done it before. Not sure if it bodes well for sibling bonding?

my DD told all the nursery staff she was having a baby sister before we'd told her we were expecting, although he's very bright for her age so I just figured we hadn't been careful enough avoiding conversations about baby

This happened to one of my colleagues, her son was about 2-2.5 and kept talking about the baby, before she even knew she was pregnant. I do think children are quite intuitive in general though.

Thanks ladies.. it just took me by surprise and it was in front of my mum as well. We aren't telling them until after the scan next weds. My mum did say 'ooo have you got something to tell us' but I just laughed it off. It sounds like I am not the only one and children somehow sense it! I wonder how LOL! X

I believe they can sense it. We didn't tell our 6 year old son until we had the 12 week scan as I have a lot of health issues and didn't want to take any chances. Within a few weeks of us finding out he kept pestering us asking when he will be a big brother and talking about having a baby brother or sister next year it was so strange as we didn't tell anyone as we agreed he would be the first once we had seen everything was ok xx

We didn’t tell our boys until we had a scan but the day before the scan my eldest said ‘have you got my baby sister in your tummy?’
We don’t know if it’s a boy or a girl but it was weird that he asked!

i feel like they can sense it too, kids somehow find a way to be intuitive, they're so special that way:)

In contrast to this, my partner's nephew has said to me twice that my tummy is so big I must have a baby in there, waaay before I fell pregnant, he's just super cheeky! My friend's daughter keeps talking about her future little brother, but her parents have told me it's wishful thinking as lots of her friends now have baby siblings!
Having said that, my friend's little girl mentioned my daughter twice when I spent the weekend with them in my first trimester (we don't know baby's sex!).
I was convinced my partner's parent's dog knew I was pregnant in the early stages, she stuck to me like glue when we went to theirs.
