i used to be so laid back before i gave birth, now i am becoming a bit of a worry-wort, if i am not careful i shall end up a clone of my mother! i am really hoping that's all this is (me being a worry-wort) and for reassurance but obviously honesty is more important than reassurance, please do tell me if u think it looks/sounds dodgy.

today i noticed on melissa's forehead a small blemish, about the size of a mole, but not raised like a mole and not as dark. more of a gray or beige type colour a bit like a bruise. i touched it and she didnt flinch so i dont think it IS a bruise.

well, if u read plenty of old women's magazines (chat, take a break, pick me up, etc) like i do, u will kno the familiar story of little ones having tiny bruises that spread all over their bodies and become dangerously ill

i was doing my hair just now and it was pecking my head thinking about it and then suddenly i remembered the most recent story i'd read where the little boy was put to bed with one little blemish and he had a little bit of a cold was all but the next day he was in a coma it was the dreaded m-word :(

i felt panicky then coz millie has had the sniffles yesterday and today (more so today) her nose is very very runny but also she is dribbling and moaning and biting i think she is teething as we aint seen any new teeth since she was 10 months old. she isnt coughing or sneezing and she has been alert and shown interest in food, toys, games etc as normal and been laughing and chattering and crawling and climbing normally.

she is up to date with her jabs, in fact last wednesday she had her last men-c booster til she starts school and also the MMR. does this sound like a normal reaction after these vaccinations?

its just really bugging me that mark, marks dont appear for no reason do they? and i dont think she's knocked herself or anything as it doesnt seem to hurt her when i touch it and its too small anyway.

i took a picture on my fone earlier, i cant get the pics off my fone onto the computer but if anyone thinks they could help more with a piccy u can text me and i'll send it. last time i posted my number here it got removed so i wont put it here but its on my facebook most of y'all are my friends there so u should be able to see it

i hope my dad's right its just a freckle or something

Hey hun, Ive had no experience of this. I just didnt want to read and run. It says on my meningitus fridge magnet to be aware of purple marks, not grey ones. My friends son had meningitus and he went from ok to very ill within an hour so Im sure you whould be well aware of it by now IF it was that (My friend got her son to the hozzie straight away and he is fine now). What ever you do, dont google it because that will just bring back every extreme and not the everyday marks and bruises etc. Im sure she is fine, please do not try to panic. Oh and have some hugs

The marks of meningitis are scepticimia (IIRC)
Sceptecemia is blood poisoning rather than a skin blemish. It doesn't go white when pressure is put on it. Take a glass and put it against the blemish. If it goes white that's fine, if it doesn't go away, make sure it's not a dirty mark and if not I'd take her to hospital. There is the possibility it's a freckle and freckles don't go white either but if you are worried I think it is best to get her checked.

hey, i updated in pfeb, but if u didnt see it i feel ok bout it today, she is fine and it doesnt look any worse. i think its a freckle :D
