Good morning ladies,
I am after some advice about buying items. I haven't been shopping yet for anything, do you recommend a brand of nappies? i.e. Pampers, brands own, huggies etc. What about cloth? What wet wipes would you recommend? Bottles or breast? Any good brands of car seats? What about travel systems? Debate on newborn being lay down in pram instead of being sat up does it make a difference? Co-sleeping or cot? Mamas and Papas cots are they good? Thanks
We found Aldi Mamia were FAB for newborn and up to size 2, then we moved to Tesco Loves Baby which we still use now, and sometimes we use Morrisons Nutmeg, just depending on where we are shopping. Saves a fortune compared to big branded names!
We have only ever used WaterWipes. Unlike other brands which say 'sensitive', they only have 2 ingredients which is water and fruit extract (whereas brands which label themselves as 'sensitive' and 'gentle' have 15-30 ingredients, most of which are things like alcohol!!) I couldn't recommend them enough. We bulk buy on Amazon.
We breastfeed, then combination fed then formula fed. I really do think breastfeeding or formula should be your choice and not influenced by anyone else. If you do end up bottle feeding, even for expressed breastmilk, we found MAM to be our favourites.
Cosatto is our go-to brand for car seats and pushchairs. We had the Giggle 2 Travel System which came with a free car seat and now have a toddler car seat and pushchair, also Cosatto. Reasonably priced but not extortionate, really well made and colourful! Fab brand.
Check The Lullaby Trust for advice on travel/pushchairs/car seats/cots etc. There is a lot you wouldn't necessarily think about, such as maximum times newborns and babies should be in a car seat, positions best for baby, cot being completely clear, not using cot bumpers etc.

We co-slept using a Snuzpod (amazingggggg!) as well as bedsharing before she went into a Mamas and Papas cot bed at 7 months.
Every baby and family is different, so what works for one may not work for another. Somethings are simply trial and error!
