Ok, so this is a really stupid question but when I was looking at maternity clothes I noticed a lot of shops had bump bands. What exactly are they for? Are they just to cover your bump if you have a shorter style top on?

 they are like a support band! you put them on and they help bad backs etc and just take some weight off. im gonna invest in one when i get bigger :) x

I used one for work as I was on my feet alot and their brill! Takes alot of heaviness off you. I did also use to wear mine cos I couldn't do my work trousers up so it hid my stomach lol

they are a support band help with the weight etc also with normal jeans they can dig into you where as when you get bigger you can button up your pants belive me ive tryed i would defo reckomend this to anyone x

They are great for helping take the weight of the back, but make sure you have a good one that would support in that way. I used it when my bump was still small, to help keep up my normal trousers and to also give extra length to my tops which started getting shorter as the bump got bigger.

I bought one at the pharmacy, but I found it really uncomfortable as the velcro dug into my skin. which brand do you recommend?

I got some maternity jeans a few months ago with one built in, but the last few weeks it's been really uncomfortable as it just digs in and makes me sore... have decided to just go for under the bump jeans now so I don't outgrow them and maybe get the seperate band.

I use mine as an extension of my tops. I got some from mothercare and new look.
