Little bit concerned, yesterday around lunchtime I noticed a brown discharge when wiping, a fair bit of it with some clotting. It is still there today and I have been having period like pains and quite a bit of discomfort around the area and my tummy in general. Also feeling pretty grotty in general and really achey.

Have called the midwife but no answer at the mo. I'm sure this is normal but am feeling a bit worried and even felt quite tearful on the way to work!

Any advice?

Hiya,I'm only in 1st tri but got 3 kids already, when I was 17 weeks wiv my youngest I started bleeding,1st wiv btown discharge ,similar to what ur describing, was told to rest and call back if it got worse,it remained the same all day then I woke at 2am in a pool of blood!! Went str8 to a&e,was examined, prodded and poked and at 11am they got a Doppler and listened to hb,I still don't know wot caused this but I carried in bleeding for 4 weeks and my son is now a healthy 3 yr old. Hope this will reassure u a bit xxx

Thanks Emma, that does make me feel better but hope it doesn't get that bad, that must have been awful for you.

I spoke to the midwife and she has got me an appointment at the EPU at 4pm for them to check me so I'm glad for that. I think because I mentioned about being Rhesus negative that hurried it along a bit.

So just have to try to stop worrying and actually get on with some work which is quite hard! Fingers crossed my LO is ok :(

Hi Dear..I am 19 weeks pregnant now and i have been having brown discharge almost every day since 7 weeks..I did panic then and have had 3 emergency visit to hospital and also consulted 2 doctors privately..All of them said brown discharge is ok..as long as it does not turn red..they hav told me not to exercise ..and i see that helping..when i walk more than a mile then discharge gets more..so I will advice stay calm and take rest..they r suspecting my problem be bcz of low placenta but I am not sure..I will keep u posted on how it goes but dont worry..
