Hi ladies. Really keen to give bf the best go I can, and am wondering about joining a local bf group. How do you find them? Are they worth going to? When would you/did you start going?

Sorry for the barrage of questions, but I really do have no idea! X

I found out about our local one through the sure start centre. I
Started going when lo was around 3 weeks ( mostly for my sanity!). I found it really helpful. It's nice meeting other ladies who are bf and chat about trails and tribulations of bf.

I had to go to my local children's centre to see my health visitor and get my LG weighed and when I was there, there was also a breastfeeding support group on in the next room so I popped in and it was great :) you can go anytime you like i would've went earlier if id known it was there. They are worth it if you have any questions or need help with BF but its good for just making friends too! I didn't realise they do a few different groups there including baby massage :) xx

Ask your MW. If you can pop along before LO arrives that's brilliant.

Means you can ask questions etc and you'll feel more comfortable about going along after birth.

It's first few days that are the hardest, so the more prepared you can be the better. X

Thank you ladies, will start by asking the midwife during the next appt :-) x
