Hi

I know Im not a mummy yet and got quite abit to go yet but I have been wanting to ask this question for ages. Do babies who breastfeed get colic? Can they get colic from having expressed milk?

Thank you in advance

Ewan had bouts of colic up till about 3 months - since then he has been fine. he was exclusivley breast fed.
used to pace the floor with him from 6pm till 10pm or later. and he would feed every hour or less in the evening

Yeah all babies can get colic, although they say breastfeeding makes them less windy.
Brody had a bit of bad wind/colic, gripe water is a godsend!

Thank you for that girls.

So if you are going to express as well is it a good idea to buy anti-colic bottles to help and also gripe water?

I didn't get the special bottles, they are VERY expensive. I'd probably go for the cheaper option because although they are fantastic for babies with bad colic, not all babies get it, and lots only get it very mildly.
As for gripe water, you can use that from 4 weeks, but infacol is suitable from birth so maybe get that in if you're worried about colic :)

I've been lucky with Ella as we've not had any colic with her.

She has normal bottles for expressed milk, but I think the teats claim to be anti colic.
