Woke up just before 4 to nasty cramping style pains all my tummy went hard and my lower back killed its been like shooting pains from my belly to my faff it seemed to last forever it’s still throbbing and sore now nearly 3 hours later, I got up and tried walking about and changing positions in bed even had a drink to try and calm it down I will be 29 weeks on Monday and this is my first so it’s all new to me and freaking me out a little xx

braxton hicks are "not supposed to be painful" however my last pregnancy mine were incredibly painful and every time i moved triggered painful tightenings. Its not too early to get them i was having them from about 24 weeks both this and last pregnancy ()however fortunately not got the pain this time) Seeing your pregnancy is going so like my last one i wouldnt be surprised if you are just having the bad luck of them being painful. But do ring the midwife for reassurance. Apparantly being well hydrated helps

I haven’t experienced them yet but from what I’ve read they’re suppose to be painless. Maybe try taking a warm bath as I’ve read that helps to relax everything, but like Liz says maybe call the midwife for reassurance. Hope it feels better soon!

Thanks ladies I finally went back to bed after this post and it’s just a dull ache there now

Mine are most definitely painful and apparently you have them all the way through pregnancy it's just went your uterus is bigger you can feel them. I've felt them very very early on this time round. Not the most pleasant experience. Drink lots of water as apparently they are worse if you are dehydrated.

I had a few more tightenings yesterday so lane wouldn’t let me do anything so I just laid on one of sofas all day ha :-) I don’t think I drink half as much as I’m supposed to I’ve never been a big drinker that’s my problem I only really drink when I have something to eat so I really need to push it xx

mine have definitely increased in the last few days and are starting to be triggered by things like running up the stairs, also getting them more at night now and i find myself waking up kind of stretching/ squeezing my stomach muscles and calf muscles and giving myself BH and calf cramps at the same time!
