Right I've come to the conclusion I just can't squeeze into my bras anymore and need to get measured and get new ones.

Can anyone recommend best place to go to get measured??

thanks xx

I like Debenhams if you have one near you.! They were really helpful when I went with my last pregnancy. I'v not changed size too much yet but I will head back when I need to.

I was going to try mothercare but read some bad thing about them! Might try them later tonight then as driving past. Will let you know if they are any good.
Is it worth buying the bras there too then? xxx

I did just because I really liked the fit. The lady that did mine was very good, she took her time and was very friendly too. I think their bras are 2 for £20 but are of good quality. I will go back when I need nursing bras.

If they fit I'll buy them! lol. So uncomfortable in mine now they just don't fit anymore :(
anyway thanks will see what they say xx

John Lewis. No doubt they are the best. Bras fit perfectly, good shape, good advice and very reasonable if you go own brand. I live in Northern Ireland but every time I'm over in uk I stock up. I try not to go anywhere else and I'm gutted that I'll not be able to get fitted for nursing bras by them!

Don't go to M&S they told me I was a 36C.. Well I have implants which are an F on their own??

I went and measured myself (used to work in la Senza) & am a 36G/H so went to get some & fit a dream..

Who are M&S kidding.. Clearly the four boob over hanging nipple look is in??

xx

I have never liked bra fitting services in shops and only ever found bras that fit by measuring myself. Use this guide:

http://thebetterbracampaign.blogspot.co.uk/p/fitting-advice.html?m=1

I hate all this "measure under your bust then add 4 inches on" bollocks (which is what it says on the poster in the changing room at Mothercare!!) It's utter rubbish and you often end up with a band that's way to big and a cup size that's way too small. I lived in the wrong sized bras for years. I got nursing bras from Mothercare which I love (and am wearing through my pregnancy as I preferred them to the maternity bras) but I took my own measurements and tried on a few just to find the right one. I struggled with choice though - limited options once you get past about an E cup (apparently we don't want pretty underwear if we have massive jugs?!??) I might be a tad bitter about that...

Remember, don't be adding on inches to your band size. If your measurement is 30 inches then your band size will be 30 - then work out your cup size based on the number of additional inches when you take your bust measurement. It explains it really well in the link.

Nothing worse than an ill-fitting bra that causes a double boob.

I found m&s really helpful and whilst the size I ended up with I wouldn't necessarily assume was the same in other shops, for the ones I bought from there they were great - nothing fancy just a white and black t shirt bra to see me through pregnancy but did th job and I'll go back there soon to stock up on nursing bras probably x

Thanks everyone.
Went to mothercare yesterday and they were really good. The lady was really helpful turns out I had the waist right at 36 but was wearing a C when I should be wearing a D. Sooooo much comfier now. She let me try on the 36D and straight away felt so much better and was at perfect fitting didn't even need to try the next size up. Bras there are fab, still have the padding I like but no under wire so ALOT more comfortable. Defo recommend them.
As there's a sale on I managed to get a normal bra and a nursing one - the nursing one should have been £18 but got it for £9! I know I might change size but I can still wear it now as a supportive one anyway. Went to asda and got one of there non underwire padded bra too, was only £6 and again so much better! Defo recommend ladies going to get fitted if they are unsure about size etc I feel so much better now! Xxx

Glad you've got yourself sorted. I like their padded non wired bras too.

Great you have comfy boobs now Jenbob. I found m and s measured me completely different size to mothercare but i couldn't take my nursing bra off at the time to be fair to both of them! I would have involuntarly squirted her with boob milk, i was something like 5/7 days post baby birth and had jumped from a c to an e cup!

That's mad! Yea I'm curious if I'll jump loads after he's here! Hope not as don't want to keep buying bras lol xxx

I don't know if sports bras are comfy for you but they seem to be lovely for me. I have fake boobs though as well as pregnant boobies so they feel soooo nice at the moment!!

Could give them a whirl??

xx

Thanks! I use sports bra to sleep in :) don't feel comfortable wearing bras without padding in really.
They are good to sleep in though defo!! Xx
