Bottlefeeding - any hints/tips on making up formula!?

I have had a bottle warmer since Chloe started on bottles and found it one of the best things I bought for her. Like you said stick the bottle in then go and change her nappy, wait for the bottle warmer to bleep and you know that the bottle is at the right temperature. I went on holiday for two weeks and found that was the thing I missed the most. As I make my bottles up in advance it is a best buy in my opinion.

so you have to add the powder when your about to feed and not in advance?

According to current department of health recommendations, yes. As soon as you add the powder (which isn't sterile) to water the bacteria start to multiply (not everything is killed off by a just below boiling temperature). Putting it in a fridge slows this down but doesn't stop it. Hence why it's recommended you make it up fresh.
