I was just wondering what books people have read or thinking of getting?

Ive just brought what apparently is the 'bible', What to Expect When Your Expecting...which Ive only flicked through but it looks pretty in depth.

But for the FOB I brought The Blokes Guide to Pregnancy, which I couldnt help but sit and read almost all of, and its brilliant! I was sat chuckling to myself all morning!

Anyone else recommend any?

I really recommend Gill Rapley 'Baby Led Weaning'. Even if you aren't sure if you're interested in BLW it really is worth a read :)

ahahah, i looked at one the other day in waterstones called from lad to dad, was quite funny but very handy too and put very uhhh, simply for guys hahaha

We went to library and my OH got lad to dad and I got what to expect when youre expecting (american version was all they had though)

I much preferred my OH book!! I found a lot of the issues in my book irrelevant cos it was the american one and i found it quite heavy reading like an academic text book or something! I stopped reading and got OH to take them back to the library! Id like to know if UK version is any better I could go and see if ithas become available!

Well the UK version is pretty much like a text book for school as well :( im finding it hard to take in anything its saying!

I might just run out and grab the lad to dad book...theyre much more interesting! (They do seem to be written a little more simply for the blokes)

I know! I read the blokes book cover to cover! theyre funny too!

Merv's mum recommended the week by week guide which I got and is very good

Whats the week by week book called? Im always interested in what happens each week but Im just finding the what to expect... book a little overwhelming.

I prefer magazines as they have lots of true stories in and usually a week by week guide. My freind just gave me about 30 so i won't need to buy anymore. Some even have pictures of birth which i find fascinating.

hi
i got the 'dummy's guide to pregnancy' and i have found that quite helpful. it explains everything without getting too technical or being long winded. but i agree with magazines too, they are full of short useful stories and tips...x

I had the rough guide to pregnanct last time, which I thought was good. I found What to Expect very american and a bit too didactic for my tastes. I had teh Queen Charlottes Pregnancy guide for a more scientific look at it, but I enjoyed the rough guide best. Trying to find it again for this time...
