Hi, I know this is going to sound silly and tmi but I need to ask someone...
Yesterday night my milk completely ran out - he must be having a growth spurt or something - and no amount of pump expressing or him feeding was getting anything out.
Today we fed him with the bottle for the feeds he missed while I got some milk back.
Tried to feed off both sides earlier, and one had this white lump (which I'm guessing must have been a blocked duct) so I got him in a different position and its gone now - all sucked out
I've just check the other side though as it's been agony. It's grazed from when we were trying without the nipple shields... but otherwise, one of the little nodules has gone all brown and covered over, with a white bit around it (probly dried milk). I noticed a bit of pink in my breast pad after we tried feeding from it this afternoon, and the boob was a bit sore but now it's gone brown on one of the feeding lump thingys on the nipple. I know it sounds silly but I don't know what to do about it? Has anyone else had this - think it might be a scab type thing..? I just don't want it to get infected or anything, and should I still feed off this side even if it hurts?
Sorry I'm still new to this breast feeding lark... but wanted to ask before we next feed as it's the painful one he's due to feed off next
Thanks guys, sorry for too much info but I needed to ask as soon as poss and not seeing midwife until Monday afternoon
it's not serious enough to go to hospital with as I can still express off it, but I dont want to lose the supply. It's on the boob that fills up the most of the 2.
