Chloe is fast approaching 26 weeks, so I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for it. So I have a couple of rather silly questions.

Tomatoes, what kind do you use? Do you leave the seeds in and skin on?

In fact do you leave the skin on everything so it's better to hold or are there items where it should be removed?

Chloe's bedtime is currently 7pm but OH doesn't get home till 5:45pm. I can have dinner ready for when he gets home but then allowing Chloe the time she needs to eat/play and chance for her tummy to settle will that be enough time? How long do you leave LO's tummy to settle?

One last question, I think. I'm aware of the tongue thrust reflex and what it's there for. Does it disappear just like that or is it a gradual thing? And err how can you tell it's gone?

Lol I realise these all very stupid questions but I'm quite nervous about weaning and want to get it right.

I just use normal salad ones in slices with skin on. He leaves the skin. Same with things like mango and cucumber Carrots and parsnips I peel. I don't do dinner yet only lunch so i'd be interested to hear opinions.

I'm still new to this so can't help too much!

Thanks hun.

So slices rather than wedges, or either? See I'm not concerned about things with a thicker skin, I guess I assumed she won't try and eat it. But things with a thinner skin, I'm a bit worried she'll choke on it iykwim.

I noticed reading the full book that it says with BLW you don't need to do he 1meal at a time the way you do with TW. The cookbook doesn't mention this but the bigger version says you should let them join in everytime you eat.

On my iPhone - so cant see tickers :(

I don't have time to do 3 meals!! I dunno what to do!! I started with one because we started slightly early but we all had breakfast together today :)

What kind of things do you and OH eat - can you not give him little bits of that??

Dunno what else to suggest.

It's hard because OH travels with work so he's not home for brekki (thats fine i can fit that in im sure!) so Tyler and I have lunch as for dinner we have it after he's gone to bed so I'm trying to figure out how I can have it ready before his bath etc but again with OHs job he's not home the same time everyday. If any of that makes sense

yeah, i know exactly what you mean - we're the same in our house.

I have finally decided that G needs more of a bedtime routine - cos the holiday knocked her out too much, and DH and I were knackered (thank god for g/parents) - but trying to decide on a bedtime that wasnt too late - but meant he'd still get to see her was a nightmare.

IF you have tea really late, do you have a snack between lunch and your OH getting tea - you could give Tyler food then??

xxx

I could try that. I've spent the last week writing downhill Tyler's sleeps to see if he has a routine I can follow but no such luck. Because he's do temperamental at night he gets up at different times which is fine if you work day to day like I do but when it comes to fitting a meal time in, it's not so good!

That's true I guess. These babies sure are complicated. Lol

Aww hun they aren't silly questions, just concerns, you should hear some things I've asked before :p

With tomatoes I've only ever made things with tinned ones so I'm not sure. I remember reading somewhere it's best to peel skins where poss ie with apples etc.

Angels bedtime is also 7pm and I give her tea at 5.30-6pm every night and give her about 15 mins after finishing before I take her for her bath, bottle and bed routine. She's always been fine, never been sick and slept soundly etc. OH works till 5pm so if it's a quick tea I prepare it when he comes home so it's ready before 6pm. I basically give her whatever we're having, within reason, I don't add salt to our food anyway so that's not an issue but she has spag bol, lasagne, last night it was mozzerella sticks etc.

As for the thrust reflex question, I am not sure so I'll leave that one :) xxx

OOh that's good to know I shouldn't have to change her routine then. As long as I can get my rearend into gear, I should be able to fit it all in lol.

I also went and took the plunge today...a week early I know but we gave her a cucumber finger and tomato wedge. She absolutely devoured the cucumber, wasn't so sure about the tomato judging by the faces she pulled, kept going back for more though lol.
