BLW

I am really keen to BLW my little one, he is solely breast fed at the moment but seems to be getting hungrier as he is feeding every 1-2 hours during the day. I don't think he's starving as he is sleeping through the night and gaining a good amount of weight.
Anyway my point is I know how important it is not to early ween but what do I do, just carry on feeding more frequently? That sounds like a stupid question now!

It's up to you whether you start weaning. I don't think 1-2 hours in the day then sleeping though the night is that bad I'd be very happy with that right now at 7 months even with his 3 meals a day and snacks.

He is just five months. I think i'll just carry on as I am, its just several people have said to give him baby rice or purree and I really want to BLW!

I only asked because they go through a growth spurt at 4.

We started a week or so before 6 months but Tyler was sitting unaided and was slightly early when born. Obviously the closer to 6 months the better but use your judgment. Love this site for readiness http://www.mumsnet.com/babies/weaning#The_readiness_signs_that_actually_matter

Thanks for the link, that has helped loads. I think i've just been feeling a bit of pressure to wean early, but I know that he's not quite ready so i'm going with what I think! Thank you x

i kept offering my lo a rusk to hold and then started a mix of blw and tw when she could hold the rusk and eat it herself. she was trying to steal my lunches etc and crying whenever i ate so i was pretty sure she was ready.

Starting with TW won't stop your baby from being able to BLW they can def do both so start when you think the time is right xxx
