Blurred vision normal BP protein in urine what is going on

27weeks today .. Yesterday I had to go to the hospital with minor period type cramps nothing major but they wasn't going away and still present now on/off.. I was put on monitors and there was no tightenings baby was fine etc . Urine sample showed traces of protien but also showed traces at 25+5 At my consultant appointment so it was sent to the lab then heard nothing back .. They sent it off again Yesterday and bare in mind at 24+6 my urine was fine according to my midwife .. While at hospital yesterday I noticed and never mentioned some blurred vision in my right eye when she turned the light on after my monitoring .. Just put it down to the lights being bright . I got home and been resting up .. Decided to have a bath my vision was blurry in my right eye my head was pounding I've never ever had a migraine before Everytime I coughed ( and when I do now ) I get a pain behind my eye ! Lights really effecting my eyes and head at this point ! I went to sleep couple hours woke up and head wasn't really pounding anymore I went to the toilet put the light on and I could feel this weird blurred vision in one eye only and pain behind it! Back in bed now in the dark .. My phones not really effecting my eyes I've no head ache but when I cough the pain is there behind my eye ! I've doctor googled as you do and pre eclampsia is mentioned quite abit however checking my book my BP is pretty normal .. Not every single person I've seen in my pregnancy has recorded my BP but here are the readings that actually are recorded yesterday's being the 27 weeks one

8weeks. 75/55
15 weeks 102/58
23 weeks 110/70
25 weeks 110/60
27 weeks 110/64

My blood pressure being normal range has made me think I'm being daft even thinking pre eclampsia is possible .. Do you think I've suffered from migraines or do you think I should be telling my mw about this eye pain or wait till next week .. I see mw in 9 days anyway !

I had 3+ protein in my urine and so was admitted to hospital as a precaution. At the time my BP was absolutely fine. 12 hours later however my BP shot through the roof.

It is worth mentioning the headache and blurry vision to your midwife so they can re check you BP as it can change suddenly. Equally pregnancy hormones can cause migraines in people who may never have had them before.

Get it checked out as it is better to be safe than sorry. X

Totally agree with babyscotcher. Where anything possibly pre-eclamptic is concerned, you should definitely get checked out. My bp was perfectly normal, no protein in urine either, but I got flashing lights in my eyes occasionally from 28 weeks onwards and two horrific migraines (literally 6 weeks apart (29 weeks and 35 weeks) and no headaches in between) and developed severe pre-eclampsia very quickly (second migraine I went to hospital - bp high, protein ++++ and abnormal bloods, just 2 weeks after a "normal" midwife appointment).

I had this with my first pregnancy and it was diagnosed as a visual migraine. Both of my eyes would blur over and id be temporarily blind for about 5 seconds xx

I've rang triage at the hospital as my midwife isn't in at my doctors today and I've been told to go my GP and get checked over.. So I'm there this afternoon xx

My BP fine so putting it down to migraines .. Xxx
