Well I'm still being sick every day and i must admit that i'm probably not looking my best right now. However, that wasn't helped by my FIL going on about how MIL and SIL were both blooming during all their pregnancies and never looked better! Grr, does he really think that comments like that are going to help? I already feel useless, like my body is not up to doing the job of growing a baby and don't need reminding that i apparently should be 'blooming' by now! He was lucky to avoid a punch!

Awww my darling!! first off what makes ya believe that your body isn't up to the job because u feel sick and your not blooming...??? not everyone blooms my darling, I know I dont think I have and the sickness is normal as well... doesnt mean your bodies not doing what its meant to.. hes a typical insensitive man! who has no room to talk since he aint been pregnant before in his life so dont even take any notice of him.... my best mate never bloomed until after her babies were born and she was sick right up till she had them so take no notice of him my darling!!

I'd say you were handling it just fine! The fact youre still being sick (horrible I know, me too) means your hormones are fantastic :cheer: so it's like youre blooming just in another way

I've never been so spotty in my life and I've got a corker in the middle of my cheek, I mean i just never had a spot in such a random place before - so although I'm not ''blooming'' as such in my own way I am blooming with my rampaging hormones :cheer:

eveytime i used to go and see my nanna she used to say i was blooming but I always used to say "yeah blooming awful" my midwife also said the same thing but I cant see it... maybe cause yr feeling so sick all the time you dont see yourself as blooming... and as holly says your blooming with hormones which is perfect!!

grrrr so annoying

when i saw my FIL at christmas he started singing "who ate all the pies?" at me :x

Men are rubbish aren't they?

Thanks for your replies. Maybe i should look on the bright side - if my MIL has never looked better than when she was preggers then she has only spent 27 months of her life looking her best  On the other hand, i will spend a mere 9 months looking rough

The cheek of it. Every woman is different and each have unique experiences throughout pregnancies.. I don't think I would have been able to hold back as well as you did in that situation.. I am so sensitive about the way I look at the moment.. Take absolutely no notice.. you're creating a miracle.. and it's not easy! You deserve more respect than that!

Aw dont worry about it hunny, I was never blooming in pregnancy with Maddison even though people said I was and this time I look awful :( Its just our babies stealing our looks to make themselves gorgeous

How rude!!!! Tell them to get stuffed you dont need those comments right now!!!

I was still feeling very sick 2 weeks ago sweet, but if its any consalation I am starting to feel so much better by the day (dont wanna jinx it mind you!)

Remember, if men had to go through pregnancy and birth, the human race would have become extinct thousands of years ago!

I like your theory! My baby is going to be a real beauty

Im still being sick too. My skin has been terrible since preggers too, never had prob ever before and although this may sound vain, really gets me down knowng i look so bad - dont have much confidence right now! I like the idea that baby is stealing my looks thou, and as you say, we can look blooming wonderful once we have our little ones!
