Last week I had a midwife appointment, during which I mentioned that my sister had had Obstetric Cholestasis during pregnancy, and that I'd been suffering with itching this time around. So the midwife took my blood, told me not to worry as it's unlikely as I didn't have it last time around, and told me to book to see the doctor the following week.
Well, I went to see the doc on Tuesday, and she told me that I didn't have it, but gave me a prescription for diprobase to thoroughly moisturise the dry, itchy skin. I was chuffed about this.

Anyway, today I have got home from work to find a letter from the main Doctor, dated Friday, saying I need to call him regarding a recent test I have had, and that he is available from about 1pm each day to talk on the phone, and that I have to inform the receptionist that I've been asked to call regarding my path lab results - so now, obviously, I am worried sick! I don't think I'm going to sleep tonight!

I only have one kidney (had one removed about 10 years ago), and I'm worried something has shown up (she didn't seem to just take one set of blood - she took about 5 vials full!)! Arrghh! I can't find anything out until tomorrow lunch time now, and I'm trying to put it to the back of my mind, but I just can't! :?

First of all, you must try and relax. You and your bump need to stay calm. If they have detected something then this is good. It is better to know what you are dealing with, and you will be cared for appropriately and checked more frequently. For what its worth, i'm sorry you are not having an easy time of it, pregnancy is stressful enough without added worries. Try and destress tonight and tackle this head on in The morning. Good luck, and let us know how it goes. X

Thanks for your reply skimpy. Now I've had a little time to think about it, I'm much calmer. It's still niggling a bit, but whatever it turns out to be (could even be just to tell me everything's ok - you never know!), I'll just deal with when I know.
Thanks again - I love this place! x

Phew - I'm marginally anaemic - that was all. Doc has prescribed me some iron tablets.

Oh good news! Yay! Glad everything is ok

You wouldn't be normal if you didn't worry!

Phew that must be a weight off your mind hun

I knew deep down it wouldn't be anything serious, but you know what it's like, especially when pregnant!
Not looking forward to black poop and being constipated though! :puke:

glad it can be sorted hun and its nothing to worry about
