Hi all. I'm pg with no 2. I am A+ and my husband is A-. I have heard that this can cause problems with a second baby in that with my first pregnancy I built up antibodies which may see baby no2 as 'alien' and attack it in the womb. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm a bit worried because I'm not seeing a midwife until I'm 10 weeks.

I think it's the other way round... If you were A- (ie Rhesus negative) then yes there would be an issue, but as your + there shouldn't be a prob... I'm O+ and my DH is O- and my mw, wasn't bothered....

http://www.pregnancyforum.co.uk/forum/v ... hp?t=47071 this is a post on people who are Rhesus negative. Which should give you more info..

Yes it means that you are rhesus negative. It is nothing major, I also have this and am having my 2nd baby. It just means that you have to have extra jabs through your pregnancy and after the birth.

Someone on here might know about this in more depth or have a chat to your midwife about it. Hope this has helped a bit

Oh I don't know which way round it is either but I know that I have it because when I had my little boy I had to have a jab after I had given birth and another 24 hours later and I think this time I will have to have some throughout the pregnancy.

hi, i'm rhesus negative and had the jabs but it doesn't make a difference to your pregnancy if it's your oh that is negative and your positive..
