How much are you meant to bleed post birth? I haven't torn at all, just a couple of grazes. The hospital insisted I stayed overnight but nobody has spoken with me. Mentioned that I was bleeding heavily (through pad and on to bed in an hour) and they aren't really bothered. Just woke up after 2 hours, coughed and more blood seeped through pants, paid and trousers. Is this right? I'd ask someone but they aren't being helpful and I'm running out of pants!xx

I was bleeding through 5 pads at a time and eventually had 2 hemoragghes as I had retained placenta.

I would definitely let them know your concerns, it's most likely just normal pp bleeding, maybe try a couple more pads at once Hun xxx

I was about to post about this myself. I read my postnatal notes and it says "blood loss - 200ml" I had the injection after birth to get all the after birth out. I had Daisy a week ago and I'm still bleeding myself. I got a first degree tear but it's outside, so that isn't causing the bleeding. I was going through 3 hospital pads in an hour or so, I guess the grazes ain't helping.
I was also wondering when the bleeding stops as mine will settle then get heavy again. I have been like this since giving birth, I'm leaking through maxi pads, through my underwear and my pants then all over the bed! I have tried everything. :/ xxx

They should def be watching this Kimmy, when did you have her? I bled quite heavily after birth and they kept on checking on me till it slowed a bit. Have you been up and about much as they thought mine was mostly due to blood pooling then coming out at once. X

I've been moving around loads trying to keep mobile! They just leave me to it, rarely checked on it. I asked earlier and thy said it's normal.... Midwife is visiting tomorrow so I'll check with her. They really leave you to it don't they!!

When I was on the postnatal ward the ladies checked on me all the time, when they came in they would always ask how my bleeding was. Maybe you should make it known to them that you're worried about it and would like to speak to someone. They can't refuse that. X

I'd say that is normal in the hrs just after birth but it shouldn't be like that for too long.

I would say that is normal I bled like that for about a week's and a half and then stopped bleeding completely the day my LO turned 5 weeks xxx

I bled quite heavily then light, then heavy then light for about 6 weeks both times, I had normal deliveries with no tears. I would say its normal but if you are worried mention it to your hv, also if you have any large clots, call up x

Thanks ladies. Midwife said it's normal and to go and see my GP if
It gets heavier, Smells offensive (!) or of there are any clots larger than a 50p x
