Ashlea's fingernails are getting quite long and the other day one of my friends told me you shouldn't use baby scissors to snip their fingernails yet, but you should bite them.....as a beautician the thought of biting her nails mortified me.. :rotfl: Does anyone know if this is true and if so why? She constantly has mitts etc on her hands because she is making such a mess of her face scratching it....I did bite them the other day as they were so long but don't really want to do that again....and Ashlea wasn't keen on it either... :(
Thanks peeps..
Luv to you all

i have always bit my kids nails much easier

Yes you can bite babys nails as you will always know the difference between fingernail and finger...but there is no reason you cant clip them...id say use baby clippers rather than scissors though because baby will move alot and scissors have to be done with caution...I cut jakobs finger when using the scissors one, now i just use the clippers..

i bite Jamies off when hes asleep on me after a feed lol!!! :rotfl:

I use baby sissors while Thea is sleeping after a feed. I told my midwife here about beingtold to bite them in England and she was appalled lol.

Yeah I was going to suggest clippinh them when baby is sleeping seems the most logical thing to do!!

I do both depending on where we are or how long Otis's nails are, I started bitting them but then found that clipping them just trims 'em up a bit better, but I still do bit 'em.

I nibbled them when Dom was awake, but if he fell asleep at the boob, I would get the clippers out as I hated spitting out the bits from my mouth - LOL

I cut kaidens with clippers so i dont go to close to the nail bed, im also scared that if he saw me biteing nails then hed maybe copy me and start to bite his own xkelx

TBH b4 Alfie was born i was mortified at the thought of biting his nails so bought the kit but their nails are so soft they dont clip, it was so quick and easy to bite them zand id rather do that than him scratch himself so i bite them now
