I've banned hubby from piccies until the deed is done and baby is out. I don't mind the first baby shots being in the labour room just not muff shots!

One reason is hubby loves photography and I had visions of him setting up a flippin' tripod down there but the other was that I just don't want my muff getting photographed while it stretches/tears! The final thing that settled it was my friend saying how the baby might one day want to see her own birth - I imagined my mother with knees spread and I realised that would be more than I ever want to see!

So I'm sticking with cutie little 'after' pics - what's everyone else got planned?

I'm with you on this one! It was the last straw when father-in-law bought my OH a digital camcorder. I had absolutely put my foot down on us buying one and am thinking he bought it to specifically annoy me. I will be banning its use in the hospital.

I've not thought about it but you're right, it's something no kid ever wants to see - their mother in labour. Euw. Lol.

I don't mind head pics (my head, not babies coming out. lol) but i won't be showing too many where i look rough, lol. I'd like some of baby as soon as she's born but i am looking forward to some nice clean ones! :D

Even worse - what if your MIL showed piccies of your OH crowning!!  Or if the bloody pics got muddled and the wrong ones got circulated by email?

My OH filmed me while i was in labour with Beth........bu it was only while i was having a bit of Gas and Air and having a chat with him....as soon as i was ready to push, the camera went off and he didnt start recording again until baby was out and we were both cleaned up a bit! Theres no downstairs action at all :puke: :rotfl:

these things should be in a list of ways to mentally scar people... lol.
Though saying that i did 'like' watching some of the birth programs as i'm new to this and it was all a bit fascinating!

But, no, wouldn't want to watch my mums labour!

It's not so much the thought of others seeing dodgy photos but I think I'd be traumatised for life if I had to watch myself tear as well as feel it. It would be worse than watching the Exorcist.

would work as a contraceptive in it's own right i think!

Even worse - imagine if there was a sound when tearing...

The only sound to be heard would be smashing glass and plastic as the effing camcorder got kicked by me through a window. :rotfl:

I allowed pics and video of me in labour, sucking on gas and air etc but none of the actual birth. As soon as Luke as born we had pics taken, one of his first booby feed which is for our eyes only LOL but glad we have that!

This is the first picture of us after an induced labour ending in emerge c-section. Its the only picture of me in hospital as I banned all other pics - I just wasn't in the mood - however I wish I had more now!

I've suggested to OH that he film the birth. More for me than anyone else. James' birth is a bit of a blur due to the pethidine, and it would be interesting to get a good look at what goes on down there when the baby comes out
OH is really not keen on the idea though! He's said no way!

I'm not sure I'd like anyone else to see it though, especially not the inlaws!! I have photos of me immediately after James' birth and I look the most minging I've ever looked in my life! Bloated, spotty, sweaty, greasy hair and covered in blood :puke:
I'd be terribly embarrassed to post them on here, I look discusting!

We wanted to film Isaac's birth but it ended in theatre with forceps so wasn't allowed. I just wanted to say, take the pics!! You can always tear them up, burn them, give them away  but you cannot go back, I so wish I had more of Isaac's birthday  Very best wishes

metoo.I got photos straight after seren's birth, including the first breastfeed, and after Cally's birth I have photos of me cutting the cord - I look awful and there is blood and gunk but I treasure them so much. Wish I had some of the actual birth.

i will be vetting all pics b4 any1 else see's them :D

OH has been told... TOP END ONLY. I've heard horror stories about men who struggle to see their partners as sex objects after they've watched them give birth! If he so much as peeks at my fanny stretching around a baby's head I will have him up by the balls- let alone taking photos!

my mum can watch if she wants- she doesn't have to have sex with me again after! :rotfl:

I didn't have any photos of me in labour & even after Austin was born it was about 40 minutes before we got any photos. At the time it was because we were busy cooing over him and didn't think about it, then I went & had a shower while OH held Austin (benefit of a home birth  ). Looking back I wish we had more photos because I don't remember a huge deal about the birth even though I had no pain relief I was pretty spaced out. I've mentioned to OH that I might like to film the next birth - if we decide afterwards we don't like it we can always destroy the film but I'd like to have the option.

I'm disappointed there aren't more photos of Finn really newly born but my hubby is rubbish at taking pics so I am lucky that I have 2!
