Birthday Cakes

Despite the fact that I haven't made a cake since I was a child, I have decided that I want to make Ella's birthday cake. Being me, I am not content to just make a cake! I want to make Iggle Piggle!!!

So, how do I go about this? My friend says I just need an A4 picture of him, that I cut out, put on the cake and cut around it. I though you had to cut out all the body parts and stick them together, but the first option sounds easier.

I was thinking make 2 cakes in swiss roll tins, sandwich them together and then cut around the template. Then use that roll out icing stuff to cover it. What do you think?

That should work, it might be difficult just to roll one sheet of icing and lay that over iggle.

It might be easier to cut out different body parts and ice them individual like this one

It might be easier to find a picture of how you want it to look and then you can try and copy it
