There is no way you can catch it from eating poultry or eggs, or from another person who already has it. It cannot be passed from human to human.
The people who have died from it in the other countries have all handled livestock that have been infected.
I was around in the 80's when HIV and AIDS was first diagnosed, and believe me, if you lived through that scary time, you won't let bird flu, mad cow disease, or anything else bother you.
