Some people might not want to share what I'm about to ask, because it may be too personal.

But basically me and my OH are moving in together at the start of March. He works about 130-160 a month, depending on how much overtime he does. Where as I am stuck to my contracted hours which is 20 a week/80 a month.

I'm just wondering if there are any other couple in this situation because we don't know what way to work the rent/bills/groceries etc. Do you's put so much in, go halfers with each other or what?

My OH works full time and I'm at uni still so what happens with bills/rent is we either split them or he pays and I pay him back when I can :). with groceries he pays for them :). we sort of have that deal because when I'm done with uni I can fingers crossed get a higher paying job than him and I'l put more money into things then :)

hope this helps. :) maybe agree to split certain things and then since he earns more than you make a deal that he'l pay for the rest and you can pay him back at some point in the future :). xxx

Not really the same for us as we both work full time hours at the moment and we are married, but both our wages go into a joint account which covers all bills and food shopping and anything else we need to pay for jointly! We then have a direct debit set up to put a certain amount of money into each of our separate accounts (the same amount for both us) so that we have our own money for things too.

For us, each others money is our money so we don't split it all as it is both of ours. I am a strong believer in that if you love someone you share your money and if one wants or needs something then you help out each other out if that makes sense. But if you want to keep your money as your money, then I'd say put the same proportion of each ones earnings into each bill etc. I hope you could understand that!xx

Myself and my OH have a joint account , all bills and food shopping money plus the money we put in Ruby's savings account each month comes out of it and what's left we use for days out Or if we want to treat ourselves ETC x

This exactly for us too, we don't have his/hers money, it's ours jointly no matter where it comes from we're of the opinion too that if you're married and share a life then you share everything and it's equal

We have 2 joint accounts, oh's salary gets paid into 1 which covers household bills, mortgage & food shopping & kids saving standing order and mine gets paid in to the other which is what we live off. We have put away the debit cards for the household account so know even if we over spend everything else is paid for
