My baby has always been big from the start, but had midwife appointment today (the first one since 16 weeks!) and Im now measuring 5 weeks ahead. Coming in at just over 34cm, rather than the expected 29cm and as a result have got to go for a growth scan next week. Im not overly concerned about this information alone, I was measuring big with my first pregnancy all the way through and big babies run in my family so its hardly a surprise. Plus I have been massive right from about 20 weeks and its not slowing down!

However after a lengthy chat with my slightly concerned midwife, I am a little worried that if baby proves to be really as big as they think, then I may have to forget my lovely little waterbirth at the local maternity unit and instead deliver under a consultant at the big bad hospital!! That is the last thing I want so obviously hoping baby is not excessively large. Im trying not to worry about it at the moment, I know there is an awful amount of play in the fundal height measurements and they are not entirely accurate, so not dwelling on it. Got my scan on wednesday next week so will keep you all informed how it turns out! Wish me luck x

Awww   perhaps your LO is just having a early growth spurt and that it will level out in the next 10 weeks or so. Don't give up hope on your ideal birth until they say definitely no

I have been through all this too. Had two growth scans now and a GTT (which was neg)

Bubs is big and liquor volume is increased. I have a sweep next week. If that fails, induction.

Tyler was 8lb1....not sure what this biff will be lol

Good luck with your growth scan. Maybe it will not be as bad as MW thinks. Fundal height can be increased by bubsposition and everything.

Good luck for your waterbirth

Thanks girls, hopefully it is just baby lying up high or something silly. Im expecting her to be big, just not too big, please!!
