Hi, sorry this is duplication of my post in the last trimester section but I am now starting to worry a little more and do not have another appointment for two weeks. I went to see a new midwife yesterday who mentioned that I am currently measuring to have a ten pound baby. She made no mention of early induction. Also she has said she could feel that the baby is breech when all other midwifes have put this down but to me she feels in the same position as always. Should I request an appointment at the hospital or trust that I will be able to deliver a large baby?

Thanks.

I had a natural birth at home and delivered an almost 10lb'er (9lb 15ozs to be exact) and it was really straightforward birth wise. No problem pushing him out at all.

Depends on your build/frame and hips also. If you are 5ft nothing and tiny framed then I'd be concerned but if you are taller, bigger, whatever I'd not worry overly.

Baby still has time to turn so natural birth should be ok :) They don't induce early for larger babies as a rule.

Apparently larger babies are easier to birth as the pushing stage is better when you have a bit more there to push.

both of my babies were over 10lbs

don't worry. Your body will cope if it comes to it - you'll be fine :)

I've done some research on this cos i have a tiny frame and at just 14 weeks pregnant i look a good hefty 6 months gone!

Anyway nature would not give you a baby that your body couldnt handle delivering.

Child birth is the most natural thing in the world i know we all might need some form of assistance but as a woman you were built for this and you can do it!

Try and make the most out of the experience, once you've given birth to your child you will feel like you can accomplish anything!
