DS3 is ebf and is weaning. DS1 was bottle fed and was super easy to wean, DS2 didn't take to weaning at all and was still boobing every 2 hours day and night until 10 months, so this time it's a whole new kettle of fish.

He's taken to weaning really well, he's on 3 meals a day plus snacks, and boob whenever he wants. He feeds often throughout the night.

In your experience, when did your bf baby start to reduce boobs in favour of food? I've no problem feeding as often as he wants, day or night, but it'd be great to leave him with his daddy for a few hours!

Mine is 10 months now and still mainly on the breast. He is starting to eat a little more but somedays doesn't eat anything other than a bite. We are doing blw, he has lunch and tea, he isn't interested in breakfast yet. When he is interested he will pick up and look and taste food so I think he just isn't ready yet for food all the time. He has started to take a cup of water and I leave it on his playmat all day and he will now help himself when he wants it so little steps.

His little friends all eat a huge amount more than him but all are ff and traditional weaned so I have no direct comparison. Health visitor was perfectly happy with him last time we saw them so I'm letting him go at his own pace. They all seem so different, I would just take cues from him and see how it goes.

My daughter loved food and from about 10m she started dropping feeds by herself. She'd drink water to so I left her with her dad for a few hours at a time from 10m. By one she was down to two feeds a day, it worked out perfectly for me but it was all her own doing
