What are you all doing while your waiting to TTC

I have a while left before we start trying but want to make sure my body is as prepared as possible. I know about taking folic acid, when should I start taking it though? about a month before trying?

Is there anything else I should be doing?

I am taking folic acid nothing much else apart fron eating healthy x

I'm taking frolic acid and just eating healthy and exercising. My bmi was 31, which was too high really, managed to get it down to 29 so far, still a long way to go!

Also just saving up and getting ready financially.

That's about it really, could do other things like eat more fish and drink less caffeine, but don't think I'm going to go to that extreme!!

I think ideally you should be taking frolic acid about 3 months before trying. I could be wrong though!

I think you're right at 3 months before. I'm just gonna try and eat better and get a little exercise in, and save some money up to buy the few things I need. Any extra cash will come in handy for the few clothes etc I like!

I did no preperation what so ever with my first! Just came off the pill and hoped for the best! Although I would say do as much saving as you physically can. Also do as much as you can for yourself because your life will not be what it once was when you have a baby. Although I love my son and my life with him in it, and we still do a lot of things we used to do, it just isn't the same. I had reached a point in my life where I'd done all my partying, had travelled the world, got married, had a few years just OH and I and had spent time on my career and had lived a little bit before starting a family. It's nice to look back on my 20's and say that was my time without every feeling like my son held me back from any of it.

I'm gonna stay on the same supplement regime I started before we stopped trying: folic acid, Agnes castus, evening primrose oil and bromelaine. My thoughts being that it will put my body in the best I position for conception when we're ready and also if that happy accident happens in the meantime.

My gp recommended folic acid 3 months before ttc which is what I did with Thomas. I also took pregnancy vits 3 months before as they had folic Acid so I figured kill 2 birds with one stone

Ive started taking my prenatal vtamins already, it will only be a good thing. ive also been eating healthy and gyming most days to be at my fittest for pregnancy etc

edit- forgot to say its the him and her pregnacare vitamins im taking and so is OH :)

My last pregnancy was 19 years ago and im not sure what I should be doing to prepare. Im trying to lose weight and eat healthy. Feels like a million things have change since I had my son, then you just needed to have s#x lol:help

I have started taking prenatal vitamins today even though we are planning on TTC around October time. I am also trying to lose weight and eat healthy. I have been reading a book on what to do to prepare for conception and they suggest taking prenatal vitamins anything from 3 months to a year before TTC. I personally just want to do what I can to prepare so I feel like I'm doing something as really want TTC.

I am currently still on the pill and am not sure really when to stop taking them and if they will effect the prenatal vitamins that I am taking but am hoping every little bit will help!

Hey day dreamer, I don't think the pill will effect any pre vits, and they reckon you're really fertile when you stop taking the pill, so I think a lot of people stop taking the pill and try straight away, and others wait a month or 2 to get it out of their system. It's one of those things where there is no right or wrong, just whatever you feel is right for you!

I was taking folic acid, but I recently had a blood test because we are TTC end of July and the doctor said my folic acid level was too high!
I am vegan, so I eat more fruit and veg than the average person, so my diet was rich in folic acid anyway. What was too low was my iron and B12. Iron in particular is important for pregnancy so this is something to have checked.
