My little boy has just turned 11 months and I'm wondering when to start ttc again. It took us 4 months to conceive last time so I'm thinking it may be similar this time but who knows. My friend also just had a miscarriage and this scares me so so much as I always wanted my kids to be close in age.
Only thing putting me off ttc now or before now (I've really wanted another since he was 6 months lol) is my work. I've only been back a month from maternity and we are so busy and so short staffed I'd feel really guilty going off again soon. Also work have a night out next month and if I wasn't drinking they'd be so suspicious so agin this is making me think I should wait but deep down I don't want to as I want to be pregnant now! Other half says I shouldn't let work interfere with our family plans! I'm torn what to do.
Part of me just wants to start ttc now as I'm scared it takes a while - if we conceived now we'd have a 20 month gap?!
Suggestions what to do..I'm midcycle this week so need to make a decision very soon lol
Xx

Follow your heart!! It may take your longer to conceive than it did your first you just don't know. My lg is 6 months and we are looking to conceive soon as we want a close age gap. I'm afraid I'm with your husband family first! Go for it lovely!! Good luck xx

There are 13 months between my daughter and son and it was hard at the time but now they are 11 & 12 it was the best decision ever!!

I don't regret it at all.

They are going through the same things in life together, starting secondary school etc. They love the same programmes and have the same mates.

It's expensive though, when they both want I[phone and £90 trainers for school :shock:

Don't let work or anything make you feel guilty - there is never a right time..

PS I have a 3 year old and I had no intentions of having a 4th child. but seeing him now I wish I had sooner! its great when siblings are close.

Could have a month of not trying not preventing and then ttc proper after this months been?

I wouldn't let work interfere. Work will cope :)

Re. age gap I am on the opposite side, I would like a bigger age gap. A bit for selfish reasons, as it is easier looking after a new baby when your 1st is a bit older and understands more. But mostly because I want to make sure that DD is ready for a sibling. At this moment she is still so young (2 in October) and has always been center of attention. She is at the stage now when she wants to play with us all the time and has things to show us and tell us. I want to be able to give her my undivided attention.

I feel that when she is 3 she will be able to understand better and accept the fact that there is another baby in the house and she has to share mummy and daddy. Anyway this is what I hope for. We will start TTC this November and I secretly hope it will take us at least a few months to conceive so that the gap is bigger.

Good luck xx
