Belly bands (support)

Hey,

Have any of you ladies used one to support your belly in the 3rd trimester?

I thought I would fine without one but baby is getting heavy and this is my first pregnancy and I get very uncomfortable some days b/c of the weight. I think it contributes to my back pain as well. OB recommended I get some type of belly band but because I'm already so close to the finish line I thought why bother until yesterday. I felt very uncomfortable all day waddling around and when I got home it was painful to walk around so I just laid down.

I got one and to be honest i regret the waste of money and preach caution. I needed support but in a different place to where that particular band sat (which no one explained to me) and it ended up giving me more pain for 3 days and hurt my back. If you've been recommended one by your doc consult a proper physio therapist or Osteopath to make sure you get what will help you.

My physio gave me a tube band that wraps over bump a few times, it definitely helps but it doesn't fit great under my clothes so I'm not wearing it as much as I should

Thanks ladies for the advice. I ordered one and it arrives tomorrow. I had a prenatal appt yesterday and she said it's fine if I wear one just only for 2-3 hours a day and not to sleep in it. I only plan on wearing it when I want to get stuff done around the apt like organizing and cleaning or when I start going on walks outside so I can bear it.

I didn't need one for my first but do with this baby. I got the one from mothercare, it's rubbish for me. No support at all really. Any recommendations and I'm all ears! Xx

When I get mines in the mail and try it out, if it works well I will come back and recommend it.

I've been wearing mines since It came in the mail last Thursday. I love it! It has provided so much support and relief in such a small amount of time. My OB just doesn't want me wearing it all day or sleeping in it. So I have it on right now for work and will take it off when I get home. Or if I have a whole bunch of activities to work on at home I will wear it then and if I go on walks outside I will definitely wear it. Just supports the weight of my belly bump which is getting really heavy and causing me much discomfort.

I had the same problem Shan, the mothercare ones aren't that supportive! It helps a little but not really haha xx
