So AJ seems to be a bit of a disaster area! lol. The breathing issues we are having with him are a mixture of reflux and a floppy larynx!! His skin problems are baby acne on his face and dry skin on his body! The not being able to get wind up is colic and the GP thinks we are right and he is dairy intolerant!!!!!! If AJ was a house he would be the one that Jack built!!! lol

Got to keep on infacol (though dr wouldn't put it on prescription cos its not that expensive!!!), SMA Wysoy and got a new reflux medicine to use called ranatadine/zantac???? Anyone used this and found its worked?

aww hun hope things get better soon,

Kayls has reflux, colic, and floppy larynx was mentioned but still waiting on more tests, its not easy is it, still on gaviscon here but not fully curing it and doc wont give anything else as its silent reflux so she doesnt vomit and he thnks thats ok despite the fact she does be in agony.

what breathing issues were u having? we were unsure if the breathing prob we had could have been just reflux or not?

Its hard to explain but during a feed he makes these wierd gagging, gulping noises and his stomach makes all sorts of gurgling noises like water going down a plug hole. After the feed or if he gets upset he sounds like a 50 a day smoker and has a rattly, mucusy sound. He does this thing were it almost looks and sounds like the feed is repeating on him and a bit of sick goes into his throat and he swallows it down. He coughs and sneeze a lot too. AJs is silent cos he doesn't vomit either. Just brought some anti colic bottles to try alongside the infacol and wysoy to see if they make a difference today. I almost took root in the docs till he took me seriously cos I am like the walking dead where I am so tired and I am feeling so down seeing him in pain all the time.

Aww bless, Harlow has all of these too!

She has the Cow & Gate version of the soy milk you have. Did you get it on prescription hun?

Did they only give you renatadine? Did you not get Gaviscon or Domperidone as well? Harlow has the Renatadine and Domperidone and it has stopped the fluid in her mouth all the time. x

Yeah defo all of kaylas symptoms

ur both lucky your docs took u serious, although loopy i know it took you a long time

we were back in yesterday as hv wasn't happy that gaviscon had not cured it but doc wasn't having any of it purely because she doesnt vomit and is not loosing weight, makes me so mad

yeh I got the milk on prescription. Didn't realise you could use them together have got some gaviscon still left. May try just the zantac then if that doesn't work by next week use the gaviscon as well. x

Are hiccups and sneezing both signs? Bertie gets really bad hiccups still and throws a hissy fit when he can't get rid of them, then he sneezes about 7 or 8 times. He's got an upset tum too but no other symptoms for illness.

Thanks to my stupid mum though am a bit wary of ringing the gp or mw. Because I rang about the lactose intolerance earlier in the week she told me I could be seen as a neurotic mother :( pissed me right off :(

Poor little AJ!

And poor you, little an is bound to be quite upset with all of that going on :(

I'm recognising a lot of those symptoms myself. My little Tilly vomits loads after feeds and then gets really upset and her breathing goes funny and she's grunting and coughing and thrashing about. Its awful to watch.

yep hun the hiccups and sneezes are symptoms. AJ has got a upset tum too. Just changed 4 really loose poos(TMI) that were very smelly all in the space of one bottle!!! Hes not ill though. but I nearly had a breakdown last night with the colic screaming between 3pm and 12 am!!!!!!! I ended up in tears having a good old sob!!!!

don't you bloody listen too her if it makes him better then you bloody phone them!!!!!!! If you didn't and something happened you would be a neglectant mother!!!We can't win!!!!!!

I'm going to get him to the gp on Monday. She just really pissed me off, anything with my sister's kids and she's there, sees them every day. Since Albert's been born she hasn't been over once and doesn't ring, but if I don't ring her I'm awful. *Sigh* Unconditional love really sucks sometimes

So hope the zantac sorts AJ out. I'm starting to wonder if some of this isn't down to being c-section babies

I am coming to the same conclusion. I think that emergency c-section thing has alot to answer for!!!!

My mums the same with my brothers kids so know ho you feel hun. x

Cams pretty much the same as this. It took us four months for anyone to take us seriously. He's on wysoy as well but it makes him badly constipated. If its not one thing it's another :(

Wysoy has been a God send for Bertie, just got to sort the hiccups next

Does England have the minor ailments scheme. Up here we sign up with the pharmacy, cos she's under 5, and you get it for free. We also got calpol on it as well (well - the own brand version!)

Xxx

Never heard of that scheme. Scotlands a lot better for that sort of thing than England

James was a natural birth and has silent reflux so I don't think its to do with that also I think loopys Harlow was a natural as well and she also has it as well xx

OMG

What you described about the gargling noises/breathing is the exact same as what put my LO in hospital. I cant believe i've found someone else on here thats going thro it!! My LO does the gargling thing, except, when it happens to him, he doesn't make a sound. He goes blue & he struggles to breathe, he goes floppy afterwards & has a blank stare, the acid is rising from his stomach & getting stuck in his throat & causing this. Sometimes it goes away if I give him his dummy once he swallows it back, its like water going down a plug hole. Sometimes it takes alot to get him to come round. We need to really give his back a good pat its very very very scary, I think the blue thing makes it worse. He doesn't make any noise before he does it, but does after.

I have loads of tips & advice, not sure if you want them, i've been posting wee tips on loads of ppl's threads recently!!

xxxxxxxx
