My blood pressure is fine.

Due to my age he said my care may be slightly different and that i'll be asked about quite a few tests, told him i'd already decided not to and he said i'll get nagged :D Told him i can cope with that :talkhand:

So my first MW appoint Nov 2nd. All anti-natal care is done at my docs now ,which is good because it is close to home, far better than keep going to the hospital.

And he asked me already am i going to breast feed

I breastfed my DD for 3months till i returned to work, i breastfeed my DS but only for 5/8 weeks he wasn't gaining weight and had to be bottle and breastfed, so yep i'll be doing the same with this one.

I bottlefed Josh simply cos the doctors and midwives had pressured me so much into breastfeeding that I decided to show them that even though I was 17 that I was going to do things my way, theres no way I was going to let them influence my decision. I never had a problem with bottlefeeding and Josh didnt either, so Im going to do it this time too :)

I just found breast feeding really convienent :D No bottles to make up or clean, didn't have to worry that i had everything when i went out, i loved breastfeeding.

Don't think anyone should be nagged into doing it if they don't feel comforable with it.

They asked me that aswell but I can;t give them an answer till baby is born reallly. Well, I'm going to try and breastfeed, but I have a have another early one then i'LL EXPRESS TILL BABY CAN USED TO IT. iF NOT, EXPRESSED IS THE WAY i SHALL GO AGAIN. i DID THE SAME FOR MY SON AND ONLY HAD TO STOP BECAUSE MY MILK STARTED TO DRY UP AND HE HAS PRETTY BAD REFLUX.

Oh bugger, didn't reaslise that was typing in capitals :wall:

I agree though, no-one should be nagged into doing it. I got alot of people giving me funny looks though for bottle feeding my son, till I explained. Each to their own, that's why there is 2 ways of doing it! :D

glad all ok at docs. you can look forward to your mw appt!

You got wierd looks for bottle feeding, i got some wierd looks for breast feeding, can't win can we :wall:

I'm not even gonna explain where I live  Probably because I'm young (ish, nearly 21, feeling 31) and they think all younger mums bottlefeed from lazyness. Or something like that.

I never got strange looks or anything and I was only 18! I also chose to bottlefeed so Daniel could be just as involved with the feeds as I was. I dont regret my choice and I dont think anyone should be judged for how they choose to feed their baby. Its always being drummed into peoples heads that breast is best and if you dont do it you've somehow failed your kids but if bottlefeeding wasnt safe it wouldnt be allowed. I agree that breastfeeding probably does have more benefits but everyones different.

What does make me mad though is when women are breastfeeding and they get disapproving looks for doing it in public

I want to breast feed but will have to see...Its about informed choice...I like the idea of using terry nappies but in reality I know its going to be much less effort using disposables so thats what I am going for...

I bottlefed my son i was 17 when i had him and had no problems so chose to do so with my daughter then the doctor came to check us over before leaving and he asked me if i was breast or bottle feeding and i told him bottle, he said whys that ,is it just so that you can sleep and your husband can get up through the night too being bit lazy.i thought that was bit wrong of him saying that i just hope they dont say anything like it this time because i will be prepared lol

Hi Oldermum, glad it all went ok.

My blood pressure was also ok, which is a relief!

But I mention that I hadn't felt at all pg the last 2 days (breasts not very sore etc.) and tbh the Dr looked at me with a bit more concern than I was hoping for... :?

He said I'm to do another test next weds/thurs just to check.

Well they gave me a mw appt for 27th Oct and agreed to do an early scan as I'm not sure on dates...

So fingys crossed for me please.

(Just wish I felt ill and then maybe I'd feel better! lol)

Looks like you'll get your scan before me, it works out i'll be 11 weeks (i think  ) when i have my first appoinment with MW.
