:sad:Some of you ladies know that I suffer withSPD and have in all my pregencies so tend to just put up and shut up. Been really struggling at work lately in alot of pain and ending up in tears. Had a midwife appointment yesterday which was all fine but asked if i could be started on any painkiller for the SPD. made an appiontment with dr and she has signed me off !!.
She couldnt believe how much I was still doing and being asked to do !! I'm a ward sister and been pulled over to set up a new ward (was already 4 months pregnent and they knew bout SPD) only have 12 patients but they require a high level of care and many are unable to do much for themselves so heavy work.

Have even had my manager ask me to assist in giving care they know I shouldnt b doing, and others have inplyed that I'm one of those women that milks being pregnant and is a hypocondriac !!!
Just worried now that if I go back after these 3 weeks what response i will get xxxxx

Hun hugs am in similar position but u have to look after urself and not worry what others think! It is hard to say no wen there are patients involved I know but they shouldn't be makib u do these kind of things! Xxxx hope the rest does u good

sorry to hear that hun, dont you worry about other people, take care of yourself, u will be yesterdays news in no time xx

Great thing you've been signed off, make the most of it and don't worry about what the others think! I also work for the NHS and cannot believe sometimes how incredibly uncaring us members of the caring professions are when it comes to our own colleagues...

Sod what everyone thinks hun, you wouldn't have been signed off if u were being a drama queen :p I wonder how they'd react to this girl I know, shes due in about 4 weeks and shes been off with SPD since she was 12 weeks pregnant, honestly shes the type of girl who'd have 2 weeks off work for a headache!! U need this time off hun to rest and get better xx

Thanks ladies u have made me feel alot better !! Going to see my physio again soon and dr has even suggested crutches already and that she thinks I might not even go back before baby arrives !! Love my job but u r all right have to think about me and baby for a change !! Can't believe how much worse I am already this time made it to bout 33 weeks before it got really bad with my last one and was already on leave !! Thanks again ladies xxxxx

Susanne u r so right about those in the caring profession !! They have no sympathy for their own !! If I'm working with someone pregnant I will never let them do anything that would put slightest strain on them as I know how it feels, yet I have been by those who have supposeibly suffered SPD too and have had kids !! Xxx

Awww poor u, I'm in same situation as u although I'm not a ward sister, I work as a band 5 nurse and pregnancy just doesn't agree with my body and have been signed off work for most of this pregnancy. And it makes u feel awful, as people do judge and critersize but end of day u are not in your normal state when pregnant, and u wouldn't have spd if u weren't. Spd is so painful and and limits what you do. How far gone are you? X

Hi baby A I'm 25 weeks so still have a bit to go !! What bout u ? It is tough and our job is hard !! Xx

I am 26 weeks now and the spd has started ova last week or so, but with my first and it was worse easier. Yes our job is hard and I hate letting the team down. But u do have to put yourself first in this situation for baby sake.
