How have you girls felt becoming a mum again? It feels so different second time round for me. I've got a 14 1/2 year age gap so its kind of like being a first time mum except this time round I'm not wanting my baby to grow up so quickly. I remember wanting my daughter to progress to each stage and not taking my time and enjoying every day. This time Im making the most of him, I've just chilled out, got no routine and enjoy cuddling and playing with Kynon, I love this newborn stage, it just goes so quick!

Im doing the same as you hunny, the only routine that i will be using again is bath, bottle and bed. I was routine mad with our Adam, wouldnt let him stay up, which stopped us from doing things as a family.
We did the same with the stages thing too, this time im hoping Elexia will stay at this newborn stage abit longer x x

I have 7 yr gaps between my 3 and my oldest is 15. I never thought i'd have another one after my 2nd as i wasn't getting any younger and being that i had my oldest at 18 i wanted to have a break but there we are i fell pregnant with Drake and i have to be honest i LOVE it. Sure it's more tiring when you get older but with my other boys older they tend to help out a lot and they love they're baby brother. The only thing i've done differently this time is routine. My other boys (particuarly my middle boy) had none and my middle boy stayedp as late as us and slept in the same bed. I'm glad i've done it this way as it gives me more time with my other boys and my husband. I try and soak in everything with the baby from the moment he wakes up till he goes to bed. I film and photograph everything as i know these precious moments don't last long. Drake was quite a difficult baby in the beginning but he's sure making up for it now..he almost, almost makes me want to have another

I wouldn't rule out another - will probs take me a while to get over the birth again but it makes me sad to think this one could be the last.

I'd like to say in about 4/5 years. I've always wanted 3 kids.

And I agree, first time round we're too keen for them to progress to the next stage, rather than enjoying it, its unbelievably scary how quickly the years fly by!!

It's great to just enjoy every minute this time. Im a lot more relaxed this time round as well. Never thought I'd feel this way but Im already keen to have more! Until having Kynon I didn't feel very maternal or anything, I was also a bit worried about bonding while i was pregnant, it must be my clock ticking away now! I guess at 36 I can't leave a very big age gap before having more anyway!

I find it very relaxed this time round. i have a 17 year gap from my first ds to my second ds and im ttc my third as i dont want my second son to be an only child the way my first was. but i have to agree i find im not wishing his life away for him to progress to his next level, just when he is ready. also nothing beats bath, bottle and bed.

im with you sarah13, im nearly 38 and i can hear my clock ticking very loudly. :)

Furryheart, wow 17 year age gap! I thought 14 was big lol! I also don't want my son to grow up an only child like my daughter, think she has found it hard at times, she loves her little brother to bits though, she's like a second mum!

Yes i know what you mean, my first son is so good with my wee one. he turned 17 years old just 10 days before i gave birth to no 2. mc twice inbetween my 2 boys.

I dont know why but i've been feeling sad the last cpl of days that this might be the last, I know its really soon to be thinking about it, I just really hope he isn't.

:oooo:

Lol I thought I had a huge gap between my two but you ladies have put my 11 years to shame lol

I have found it very different this time around but then again my circumstances are very different too! My OH is a loving attentive father and we tried for 4 years for our LO and I enjoyed every minute of being pregnant, he dotes on both the kids and treats them no different.

When I had Mitch I was 18/19 and with a person who treated me terribly needless to say he was not planned and I hated the whole pregnancy I just felt to ill! But when he was born he changed my life.

I feel so lucky now tho, I was able to give Mitch my full attention and I am so proud of both my kids

Kinda sad we don't plan on having anymore lol but I could not cope with 2 little ones. xx

Miss, your story sounds so like mine. my first son was with a idiot who was just all for himself, but my partner of 13 years has looked on him like his own. Littlemiss83 i remember feeling like i wanted to be pregnant within days of having my last son and the midwife kindly informed me that it is my body, cause it knows its no longer pregnant and it wants to try and get you pregnant again.

I know how you feel, think Ive decided I want another quite quickly just a bit concerned about how that will work out with the rest of my life, may realistically need to wait a few years which worries me as I don't want to wait until I'm the wrong side of 40!

I just totally love the newborn stage, love babies in general. Its kinda like the whole thing....a puppy isn't just for Christmas, its a lifelong commitment even when they're older ect. I know my thoughts are totally irrational, its just all so special when they're this age.

Broke down in tears last night when OH said its wierd to see me w/out a bump, I was so embarrased I had to walk away & sit in the bathroom...wot an emotional wreck!!

I love newborns too, I know they don't do much but you can't stop staring at them and cuddling them! I'm still missing my bump, don't like the soft belly left behind either!
