So many questions, so little time lol :)

Was just wondering what the general opinion was when it comes to babies sleeping arrangements. In my mind, I would like baby in with us, in a Moses basket and we already have a cot set up in the nursery ready for him when I think he is (I am) ready :) But I figure I will need a crib in between the two?? When did you put baby in cot?

And do you use sleeping bags or blankets?

Also, where do you have baby sleeping in the day? I had planned 2 Moses baskets, one upstairs, and one down. Or even just 2 stands to move the basket between. I also have a bouncer and a mat for the living room. I just feel a bit clueless atm.

TIA xx

We have a crib which emily has been in since birth then we will move her into her cot bed, she has a a fleece doubled over with a sheet underneath. When she goes in her cot bed she will have a coverlet. When she has naps in the day she sleeps anywhere either on the sofa, on my bed in my arms or in her bouncer chair. She only has roughly half hour naps at a time. We did have her pram carrycot to sleep in but for some reason she didn't like it, she wanted to be out with everyone else.

It's really a matter of personal choice and what you have the room and budget for.

Personally I wouldnt bother with a Moses basket. My son was in his the grand total of 11 weeks before he outgrew it. If you have the room in your bedroom you can put your baby straight into the cot or cot bed. If you're short on room, a crib would be better than a moses basket as well.

Personally for this baby we've bought a next 2 me, which is slightly larger than a crib. He will be in this until he grows out of it. We will then move him into a cotbed into a room with his big brother. For downstairs I'm just planning on having him sleep in the carry cot initially. My son also outgrew this pretty quickly so I think once baby gets too big for it I will start putting him upstairs for daytime naps. I found my son never slept particularly well downstairs in the day, he always prefered the dark and quiet of his room. So I will do the same with baby.

We had a Moses basket and then cotbed setup in the nursery.

After a few weeks we bought a crib for our room and just used the Moses basket downstairs as I found it easier having it like that rather than carrying the basket up and down stairs as I'd had a c section.

That worked much better for us and thomas seemed to prefer the crib.

It also made the transition at 6 months to the cotbed easier as it was similar to the crib..

He grew out of the Moses by 3 months and the crib by about 5 1/2 months. Saying that though he was very small to start so could be sooner for a bigger baby

We have managed to squeeze our LOs cotbed into our room. I didn't see the point in buying a crib.

He was in a moses basket until 11 weeks old. It's really a personal preference about them. I have quite a big boy, whereas my niece was in the same moses basket (it then got passed to us) until she was nearly 6 months because she is really petite.

I recommend sleeping bags. He's been in them since birth and he seems to like them. Some babies do hate them though, but generally if you introduce them early enough they're fine.

He slept in the carry cot that we placed on an extra moses basket atand in the house. Now he sleeps wherever. He's not very good at naps so generally it's in his car seat or pushchair. If we're in the house I'll attempt to get him to sleep upstairs but sadly it doesn't often work.

I had a moses basket with a cellular blanket (2nd hand, which i swear helped her settle because it smelt of babies not factory, new mattress) i then moved her at 3.5 months into her cot in nursery. (Next to our room and we keep doors open , no way could i have her any further at this stage and if i could get her cot in our room i would have.)
We really struggled to get her in her cot, from being being a baby that settled well, it became a week of hell before she settled. In hindsight i would of got a wwinging crib to go in our room, to help with transition...dont know whether that would made it better or easier. Other people said they made transition to moses basket to cot in nursery with a travel cot in bedroom, again wish i had done that.

During day : poddle and toddle pod with a blanket. (Great purchase)
Re blanket and sleeping bag. Despite buying a load of sleeping bags, my little one wont go in them or settle in them so that may be a decision not made by you, just dont do what i did and buy loads of them before hand. Like mellie said we didnt try and introduce sleeping bags till 3 months, wish i had done that from birth...my tip with sleeping bags is get side zips not front zips, m&s are good)

I am using a crib from birth. It's bigger than a Moses basket so I am hoping she won't outgrow it too quickly. Then she'll be moving into the cotbed.

I am using the pram carrycot and a layflat bouncer for naps downstairs.

We had LO in with us in a crib until 8 months and then moved her into her cotbed in her room. We had a Moses basket for downstairs and she also slept in it upstairs (inside the crib) for the first couple of weeks. We discovered that her pram carrycot fitted perfectly in the Moses basket stand so we used that downstairs after a while, although she much preferred sleeping on us to sleeping in it!
