Hi again!

This past couple of days have been quite bad with lo, she's breastfed and seems to get quite bad wind. We burp her for ages and a bit of air comes up, but after she will spew everywhere, tons of the stuff, we're both covered, soaked, splatters on the floor, not good. She's started fighting when we wind her on our knee now, pushing herself back and screaming. She's crying a lot at the mo :( I've started feeding her upright, and the sickiness has calmed right down, and she brings up a lot of burps by herself, which is great, but has started screaming on the breast, I take her off to wind and she screams even more. I've completely lost all my confidence with her, don't know what to do :( Help! Xx

She's stopped pooing too, I get lots of wet nappies. She's 5 weeks today x

The wind, sickness and screaming all sound like reflux. Not sure about the nappies though. How long has she only had wet ones for? I'd ring the doctors and ask them. They were happy enough to prescribe my LO medication for reflux from my description on phone. I just had to go see go see doctor after fortnight to let her know if I thought it had improved enough. Thankfully it had. I was so relieved when I rang about it as its not nice seeing them in pain. Good luck. Hope LO is better soon.

When my son was born they said breastfed babies don't need to poo a lot as they need everything in it. So there shouldn't be much waste. I would speak to your gp just incase things have changed though as that was 4 years ago but as long as sges getting wet nappies and gaining weight I'm sure it will be okay. The other symptoms you've described does sound like reflux. My little girl was diagnosed with it last Wednesday and had a lot of the same symptoms although she's bottle fed. Your doing the right thing by keeping her upright during a feed they also recommend to keep them as up right as possible for half an hour after a feed also. My little girl has been prescribed infant gaviscon and it's worked wonders although it's made her poo quite hard so it upsets her tummy that way so I need to speak to my gp or hv when the gp sugery opens. But other than that sges no longer very sicky and doesn't scream during her feeds and after. Xxx
