Well I haven't been around for a while because I've lost my baby
I went for my 12 week scan on 17th only to discover that I had had a missed miscarriage and there was only a pregnancy sac present.
Since then I've been through a bit of a nightmare!!
I had to have a D & C the day after, but they told me that they hadn't managed to get it all and I would have to go back for a scan the following Thursday and then have a vaginal pessarie (sp?) to help get rid of the rest of it (or the 'product' as they called it!!)
So I had my follow up scan, only to discover that the entire pregnancy sac was still there The sonographer was quite angry about this and asked me who my surgeon was!!
Then a doctor came and read the notes the surgeon had written. Apparantly they thought they had damaged my womb and had to bring a consultant inot the operation, who confirmed that no damage had been done. However, they stopped the operation because they were being over-cautious, which was probably a good thing. I just wish they had told me this, instead of saying that they hadn't got it all!!
I was booked in for another D&C for the next day, but on Thursday night I thought I had passed the pregnancy sac
They told me to take it in the next day and when they saw it they confirmed it was the pregnany sac and that I wouldn't need a D & C!! I asked them whether I needed a scan to make sure it was the actual sac and they said all I needed was an internal examination!! A red industrial torch was then used to see of my cervix was open or closed
...honestly!!!
I was discharged and went home that night to see my Dad in Lincolnshire. I was there about 1 hour before having the most incredible pain I've ever had and before being rushed to A & E where I proeceeded to pass the real pregnancy sac which was about 10 times the size as the thing that came out on the Thursday night!!
All in all, I've had a really shit time over the past couple of weeks!!
