just been to midwife and he is now head down but not engaged still 'floating' as she called it but now he is back to back. can you have back to back naturally or do they do a section?

definitely able to have a natural birth with a back-to-back baby, there's just more chance you'll be shouting for the big drugs. :D
I think they can move around to and from back to back right up until they're coming out so there's a good chance for you to get the baby the right way. Do you have a ball to bounce on?

My baby was back to back throughout my labour - apparently it's a different kind of pain (I have nothing to compare it to as it was my first) - the pain is all in your lower back - but you don't need a section.

Good luck!

nathan was back to back and had to have a epidural as it was really painful in my back
hopefully you can get yours to turn before

It felt like one long contraction in my lower back, I will try and make sure that it doesn't happen again.

You can do things like be on all 4's, make sure you aren't sitting for long periods, there are other things, I would make an effort to try and avoid it, if I were you.

I just saw you are 31 weeks, that is lots of time to make the baby turn.

i dont know if it was anything to do with it but before i was really sick (about 8 times i was sick)
please try and do all you can to avoid it i know i will next time

yes you can because my baby was head down very low and back to back :)

i delivered natually :) first baby too. i been in labor since the monday tho so was very long labor and had her on the friday :)
goodluck if u do experience pain u can always ask for more stuff.

i had pain in lower back but it wasnt nothing much except for the tear i got no other pain. tear tho was my fault as i was pushing but no contractions at the time :) only thing i had was gas and air and that was to control the contractions.

Vicki1983, when you say you were sick what do you mean? During full blown labour or leading up to it. My baby is presently back to back and the past 2 days I have felt really sick :puke:

Co-codamol (which you're allowed during labour) takes away the back to back pain :D

I wish I'd known that about the co-codamol!

I was very violently sick twice during my labour too and my baby was back to back - this was well into established labour though when contractions were coming thick and fast.

Yeah you can have your baby naturally, I had my second son back to back.... felt it more in my bum.... but 3 pushes, 'NO PAIN RELIEF' and he was born.... 9lb 2 oz not too bad eh...... oh yeah...got to see his face before he was completely born too... that was weird.. :rotfl: But don't believe all the horror stories will happen to you, some people are lucky... like i was..

My baby girl was back to back - and I couldn't give birth to her naturally - I won't give you all the gory details (you can find them in my birth story) but it involved forceps & was horrible!!

ope was back to back, unfortunatly it was a 38 hour labour but i didnt have anything apart from gas and air for it though,
