Hi all. Well after waiting around in hospital for 2 days I've been sent home because they are too busy to break my waters. I was in a ward with six beds. They were inducing people left right and centre in the other beds. I saw loads of women come in after me, only to be induced and sent down to the delivery suite! I was only waiting to go down to delivery suite to have my waters broken but kept getting told there were no beds. It was disgraceful. Some women were being left in the beds next to me without pain relief at 9cm dilation saying they needed to push and there were no beds in the delivery suite for them! It was too stressful hearing all these women in labour and I ended up having no sleep.

Anyway, I'm home now and am booked in to go back and have my waters broken on Tuesday - I'LL BE 14 DAYS OVERDUE!!!!!!!!!!! They've told me I'll be made a priority then. (*Yeah right*)
Sorry for the rant, I just feel so let down and upset. I expected to be holding my baby girl by now

Your rant is totally justified! What a farce!

I would be fuming too :x

Poor you  and the poor women waiting on the ward.

Good luck for tuesday!   Hopefully it will happen naturally before then

you poor thing hunni, i would have been so scared!!!

i cant believe they left you there waiting and those women around you - ouch!!!!

Oh no I cant believe they have sent you home and those other women who were just left without pain relief. Maybe you are better off waiting, it sounds like they couldnt cope.

That's so awful. Makes me  it must be awful for you! It's so annoying that they couldn't just have sent you home to begin with!

I guess it's not the staffs fault - everywhere seems to be full and understaffed! But STUPID NHS

hope it's not long now honey xxxx

Bloody hell can't believe your back home that would have scared me seeing all those women in pain being left don't think i'd wanna go back! xx

  OMG!! That's shocking!! I bet you don't want to go back to that hospital!! I hope you go into labour naturally and it's a bit quieter when you return hun.

My worry would be that level of madness however I went into labour. It is nice to think we have their attention! Nobody seemed to have the staffs attention:shock:

I think I feel sorry for everyone concerned!

Oh no you poor love :(

Lets hope you go into labour naturally before then. Ive got my fingers crossed for you.

Its disgraceful how understaffed our hospitals are now!! :x

oh poor you :( i know how frustrating it is waiting for your baby in the last few weeks. i hope it happens soon for you xx

How dissapointing for you. Hopefully by Tuesday they'll be less busy - it doesn't sound as though it was a particularly very good environment to give birth in anyway.

In the meantime, have a few of these

THanks girls. The staff were actually lovely and I couldn't fault them, its just that they simply didn't have enough rooms for all the women who they were inducing as there were a lot of women simply coming in off the street who were given beds on the delivery suite straight away (understandably - they WERE in established labour). So then the women who had been induced had nowhere to go. I think it was just a busy weekend for them as women were coming in left right and centre already in labour. I do understand and feel for them. I'm just SOOO frustrated. I got myself all excited and thought that the next time I walked through my front door it would be with my baby not still pregnant. At least I know if I do go into labour naturally (not likely!) I'll hopefully go straight into a delivery suite!

The time I had Ty, there seemed to be a baby boom. It was a ship one out of delivery and ship one in.

I was on the ward for hours and hours. But they did try pethidine. They were extremely busy. When my waters broke, I told them and no one came to me in over an hour.

All turned out well in the end though.....Like you said....If you are in established labour, they cannot send you home.

So pineapples, sex, raspberry leaf and walks for you! (not all together Jools :rotfl: )

Now I would have been really pissed off at that!!! I feel your pain. Nothing you can do though so not long and you'll definetely have your baby in your arms.

Take care x
