does anyone use these and are they any good? I was thinking of getting one for Jack as sometimes think it would be easier but is he too old for them now? how old can they be before you have to stop and where do u get them from?

You can wear a baby until they are 3! No joke - just carry them in different ways depending on their weight and their development.

I think you'll find this post helpful - I have just ordered a kari-me (lilac) and want all the others, desperately!

Let us know if you get something - it's my new favourite topic!

fantastic, thanks Valentine.

I've had a look and I think i like either the Hug-a-bub or the babyhawk mei tei... do you think these ones are any good? and which one do you think would be better for a novice like me to use?

Hey krystal,

I'm not 100% sure as I am new to this too and don't have either of the slings you mention.

This is a great website to chat and find out about baby wearing.

Good luck!

Melanie is the only baby wearer i know on here.

I got a sling for imogen but she hated it!! it was a basic ring slng and didnt work for her, so ive ordered boring carrier instead for her

wi loved the mei tei ones but bit expensive, i'd rather see if i get good use out of the carrier before trying them. does immy settle in carrier?

i LOVE my mei tai! and so does alice. Ive almost mastered putting her on my back on my own as well, but if she wiggles too much its harder.

im just looking into making a new one for myself, and a toy one for alice :D

ebay. :

some people have said that they are worried about the stiching with these though, but i check mine all the time, and im happy with it (ive compared it to a friends who got hers local, and it seems better quality than hers  ).

i brought this oen from mothercare first, http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product/B0 ... 1&mcb=core
but alice no longer gets on with it, so ive put it on ebay. im having 2nd thoughts and pulling it off, as alice adored it as a tiny baby, and i could use it for number 2.

no problem.

There are a few sites on the net where they tell you how to make your own. \and how to make a carrier from a sheet, that type of thing.

there is a place near me where you can rent them out.

I was still carrying Seren when I found out I was pregnant (she was 19 moths old and is very tall) and was carrying her perfectly comfy. She loved being carried and was always chatting happily to people. I have a babyhawk and love it.

We have a Kari Me which we got from Little Possums online. It's very versatile in terms of how you carry the baby and good if you have a bad back.
