Baby Sling - how to get LO in and out/Best positions etc.

I bought a baby sling on E-bay, so haven't got any proper instructions with it.

I'm having trouble finding a good position for my LO - when I lay him in it, he just seems really scrunched up and uncomfortable.

What's the best positions to put him in (he's 7 weeks and 9lb 9oz)?

And how best to get him in and out - put sling on first & man-handle him into it, or lay him in it on the floor/bed then put sling over head?
