yep i co-slept with both my boys till they were about 4-5 months. was so much easier when they woke up during the night for a feed. most times the way i was led made it so easy for them to find my boob during the night, that sometimes i hardly even woke up!!!

I think you'd be better off posting this in the parenting section than in 'trying to conceive'. The large majority of us in this section don't have babies. Though I'm sure some of us probably have views anyway, you would get a much better response elsewhere.

Personally, right now I have no opinions whatsoever on this issue - all I can think is that I would love to have a baby to share my life with, let alone my bed...

My mum co-slept with all her 6 kids. IMO co-sleeping is only dangerous if the mother &/or father are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Hospitals usually don't promote co-sleeping I think because post-natally mothers are sometimes under the influence of pain medication and also need their sleep, are very overtired and the beds aren't set up for it. Also co-sleeping is not recommended because of SIDS. However I know of many mothers who have co-slept and find it makes breastfeeding A LOT easier. The midwives I talk to generally consider co-sleeping to be safe if you know how to do it safely.

I never did with mine, i was too scared I'd roll over onto them in the night. But each to their own I guess.

But surely the name of this part of the forum (Trying To Conceive) you would have realised was the wrong place for this question?

I wont be sharing bed with baby, i move around SO much in the night i'd probably kick or punch them, i may put their moses basket on bed closeest to walla so its easy to get them when they wake (theres only me anyway so no worries about waking an OH)

I think Id be too scared to let them share my bed, especially with my 22 stone OH  I will buy a moses basket to keep beside the bed though when I have a baba. :)

I won't be sharing a bed with this LO....my bed is for me! not for the children!

I plan to have the moses basket by the side of my bed until they get too big for it then they are in their own room and in their own cot from then on.

Sorry but I know ladies TTC think about what and where their babies will be sleeping and thought I would ask here!
I did say that if its considered to be in the wrong section then move it! I just was asking for views on it that all!

Oh its ok! I hope I didnt sound funny? I didnt mean too!?

:D I know this is an old post but.

I co slept with Olivia, breastfeeding was so much easier, my milk supply was established on time and I got some sleep.

She had no problems going into a cot at 6 months ( in our room andshe co slept on and off) and then no problems going into her own room at 13 months which she now sleeps through.

Easy peasy :moon:
