little joshua wont have a poop for a couple of days at a time however spends the day of the poop generally in a completely irritable mood! he wont stop screaming or sleep through the day at all. however hell end up exploding everywhere, it will be in his hair up his back etc! It will be a yellowy colour and is being breast fed and formula fed! is there nything we can do to help him along cos not only is he seeming miserable but also its taking tis toll on mummy and daddy!
xx

ready made formula cartons contain more lactose which may help x

When you say explode do you mean runny poo (sorry, can't spell diarrhea!)

When Drake hadn't pooed for a few days I gave him cool boiled water, but he was constipated..it did help him. I'm thinking maybe the formula and breast milk are playing up his bowels a bit as I know formula can give them hard stools now and then.

we've been feeding him cooled water all day (not just that obvs) his stomach is rock solid but when it comes out its liquid - the colour of chicken kirma x

Edited as I read your reply above.

I'm not sure what to suggest Hun, other than have a word with your midwife?

How old is he? Cahal was the same until he was about 6 weeks old, he wouldn't go for a few days and then after he did would gradually get more and more irritable until he went again, at which point there was so much it completely overwhelmed his nappy!! I cut out dairy and anything spicy or acidic. It meant a really boring diet but seemed to do the trick. Over the last few weeks I've slowly reintroduced dairy (mainly because it was driving me bonkers) and although I still don't have much, his poops have settled - he now goes every morning and every eveningand touch wood, hasn't made too much of a mess of himself :)
