Hi Girls,

Right, OH and me are trying to think of names, now he is totally and stubbornly stuck on Shelley for a girl (Its my name) and for her first name.
Now I've never heard of this with a mother & daughter before, has anyone else?
I quite like the idea of a mini me running about but is it really weird?

Just would like peoples opinions on it and if anyones heard it before?

Thanks everyone!

i dont think its vain will just be confussing though

i wanted me and Dior to be very similer like a mini mee :)

so i went for Dionne & Dior
even though my OH calls us both DEE, its confusing

I voted yes..but not because i think its vain.
i just think it would be odd, thats only my opinion though..if you like it i say go for it

It's good for a middle name but might seem a bit odd as a first name. Might get a bit confusing?

i like that..my dad has my grandads first name as his middle name and my brothers middle name is my dads first name..if that makes sense :?
I think thats a brill idea :D :D

I thought that would be good for a middle name, or I liked Nelly for a first name so it's close but not the same.
OH's having none of it, men honestly think you can do the oddest things. I quite like Iris too but I'm sure I'll think of a few more to throw at him.

We had a mini argument about this so I said I'd ask the question on here to prove to him it's not a normal thing to do.

Thanks for your replies, X

I'm sure your LO would prefer her own name. Its part of your personal identity isn't it and also the confusion thing! I'm sure you will find a great name you can agree on

Hi

My OH's name is exactly the same as his father's - and I mean exactly - they have two middle names, both exactly the same. Very confusing when they used to work together!!!!!

We are having twins and if one of them is a boy OH want's to do the same - I'm not sure but it seems a family tradition...

So it's not unusual, seems like we're in the same boat!

Good luck anyway
