wondered when u all felt your first movements, im 17w ad 2d today and obsessed with trying to feel baby now, i will be so relieved to know everything is ok by a kick rather than waiting for an ultrasound!!

if you could do the poll question for ur first baby that would be great and maybe post a reply below for subsequent babies as i understand the dates are often quite different

noticed lots of us seem to be think about this so thought a poll might be a good idea :)

first time iv tried this so hope it works!

i must add- not sure iv felt anything yet i can say is definately baby!!

I never felt any obvious kicks or squirms till bout 20 weeks or a few days after. I cant quite remember but it was round my 20 week scan.
Was due to me having an anterior placenta so it was cushioning the kicks.
It drove me mad that i couldnt feel any movement, like you said i wanted to just to put my mind at rest.
Trust me hun it wont be long for you and then it never stops.
My Calleigh was such a kicker in the end it actually hurt sometime
Still a right fidget now she has been born :)

i cant remember where they said my placenta was but it was only a 12w scan so i guess it might not be where it was anymore!!
thanx for ur answer- i think im anxious to feel them but ur probably right- i should make the most of not being kicked awake at night!! xx

Does it say anything in your notes about the position of you placenta. I am sure i was told at my 12 weeks scan  i may be wrong tho, cant remember alot of things these days (scatty mummy brain i blame it on  )

good idea!
i just checked- it says 'placenta: posterior high, structure normal'
why is baby not wriggling yet? :wall:

Could be a lazy little babe, have you felt anything at all yet?
I did get bubbly feelings before i got anything obvious like a kick.
A very ice cold drink used to make my LO wriggle. Have you tried that hun.

Mine kicked first at 21w+4 and my placenta is at the back. I also never fell any bubbles or other popping type movement feelings either. One day he obviously decided to kick and hasn't stopped since then. Oh also the first kick was hard enough that OH could feel it when he put his hand on my belly.

......im still waiting to feel bubs kick! :( hope s/he hurries up! :D

Over the past few days I've started to feel a kind of fluttering/bubbly feeling so I think this must be the baby cos I've never felt it before. Like you gerb I can't wait to feel a proper kick!

16-18 weeks with my first and a tad bit under with my others :)

16 wks with this one but 20+ with my son. It might be early with this one because its my third preg plus he is quite heavy, was 1lb already 4 weeks ago

unsatisfied with not feeling a kick i borrowed a doppler from work- after getting panicky and only finding my pulse we finally found baby on the right :) it was 138bpm- that wouldnt be the placenta would it? i was trying to find out what that would sound like but i could find much info- so hoping what we heard was the little one!!

I had flutterings at 14.5 weeks and stronger movements at 16.5 weeks, since then Bubs hasn't stopped. He/she is extremely active.

My placenta is posterior too.

You will will feel movements soon enough.

With a HB of 138, that defo sounds like baby. Babies heartbeat should be a lot faster than your own.

I have had the wriggling "can of worms" as Flossy would call it from 13 weeks! But this is my 4th baby! With my first, I was 16-17 weeks!

thank you everyone i really appreciate u taking the time to share ur experiences with me xx
ps i felt a few blobby movements yesterday but nothing definate and im not sure if im making it up now!!!

My first 2 pregnancies were 15 & 10 yrs ago so I can't remember but this time @ 11wks I have had popping and during the last couple of weeks I have had quite a few hard kicks in the belly region which always happen when I'm yawning & stretching! It does get earlier the more pregnancies you have. :cheer:

Lol lea m that made me laugh  With my 1st 2 it was between 16-18 wks when i felt wriggling around in there and more prominant kicks etc a few wks or so after that! This time im not sure if its bean ive felt or not? I know when i stretch or move in an awkward position i feel something and not sure if its bean or not? :?

I have been feeling flutters when im led down from 12 weeks but this is baby number 7 for me so not unusual.
