This questions probably been asked millions of time so apologies if it has!

Whats the best baby monitor you recommend, i'm stuck as to what kind to buy to be honest and any info & advice would be great.

Thank youuuuuu! :D xx

A few people have said tomy arent that good?

That CCTV one looks ace, might try and talk OH into that! I'm not sure if we need one that flash to be honest though but let me know if its good or not if you dont mind FeeFee :) x

We have a Chicco video monitor and its excellent!
Comes highly recommended from me, good to see what she's up to as well :D

We have a Tomy Platinum Walkabout which is pretty good although battery life is a bit rubbish.

We also have a Baby Sense II Monitor which goes under the mattress and monitors babies' breathing. I couldn't recommend it enough and it has been brilliant and it is the best item out of everything we bought. It is actually a medically certified device unlike some of the other breathing monitors on the market:

Well worth the money, I actually bought mine on Ebay secondhand for about £35.

the mw at my antenantal class told us to get a simple monitor, not one of the new-fangled all singing all dancing monitors as you lose some of your mothering instincts. I think we are gonna get one where you can hear when they cry but not one with the breathing sensors, cctv etc...

Don't mean to be rude, but I think your MW is totally wrong. I wouldn't have slept anywhere near as well without our Babysense over the past 6mths. It is actually used in hospitals for babies and is a safety device not just a 'new fangled toy' as your MW would have you believe. I am sure that anyone who had lost a baby due to SIDS would agree.

I think the MW probably meant one of these visual video monitors...after all being able to see your baby doesn't necessarily mean your baby is breathing! But the breathing monitors...now those are a different matter and I will seriously be considering buying one of them for this baby. I was constantly shaking my daughter awake when she was tiny just to make sure she was breathing I was that paranoid. But the breathing monitors look really comforting.

I bought a cctv one, but wont know what its like for a few weesk yet!
