Baby is definitely breech, but good news!!

Well the scan showed baby is definitley breech, but they are going to attempt to turn him/her on Wednesday... despite the fact that i am Rhesus negative... I need an additional jab of anti-D but the consultant said that the risk of maternal fetal blood mixing is the same as at birth so said it shouldn't be a problem..

I'm a bit nervous actually, I suppose I had totally discounted this option.... lets just hope that it works!!!

Sorry to intrude but when did you get booked in for your scan. At my last appointment midwife said that she is still breech but never mentioned what happens next, I am also resus neg so thought I would just be booked in for a c-section, did you get the option or do they tell you what they will do.

Sarafet, They say the success rate is 50% but things I have read on the internet say the success rate can be as high as 80%...

kellyand bump, I was only booked in after my midwife appointment on Thursday. Although he/she has been breech for a while, they don't do anything til 36 weeks. The Registrar suggested ECV without having read my notes carefully, I told her I was Rh-ve and she said she didn;t know whether they'd do it... but after checking with the consultant said it'd be OK. I guess it'll depend on your consultant.
