Morning all

I had my 38 week appointment last Friday and bubs is currently LOP (back to back) so I am dreading what my labour is going to be like if she doesn't move

I had an epidural with my DD so I will probably ask for one if the pain gets too bad, but I am so scared about having forceps which apparently in back to back labours usually happens.... (I also know I am more at risk of having forceps / ventose if I have an epidural also).

I am also scared about how much she will weigh. My DD was 8Ib 13Oz!!! And according to my graph and the antiquated way they measure your bump, this one is on a par to match that at least....

I am wondering whether to book a private scan so I can find out the proper weight of her, or is that just silly? Has anyone else done that???

I think all in all, this is my 2nd child - I know what to expect in labour and I'm definitely more scared this time round.

Thanks in advance
Sarah

Aww Hun not sure I can help but didn't want to read and run. Just because your measurements are similar doesn't mean baby will be the same size - you might just have lots of waters and I'm not sure the measurements are always accurate anyway xx

Don't worry I was told I was having a huuuuuuge baby and he was 8lb 10oz but tiny, he was just very solid. New baby clothes drowned him xx

Hi my lo was back to back, I had no warning it was while in labour they discovered this. I had decided to have a natural birth with just gas and air so had him in a midwife led birthing center. I was happier on my hands and knees as it relieved pressure on my back but my lo wasnt happy with that and they made me lay down to deliver as his heart rate was dropping. to speed up labour they gave me an episiotomy but that was all. It was my first baby and at 3 am I was 4cm and he was born at 8:30am so not that bad at all. I was begging for more pain killers but i was 10cm at that point. Its just my experience but I have nothing to compare it to but in my opinion it wasnt that bad but my lo was only 6lb 7oz. im sure having an epidural would help loads but it is possible to have a reasonably natural normal delivery. hope this helps. try not to worry x
