right i still dont think i have found baby heartbeat on fetal monitor.

I can hear something but its not a very high bmp rate.

am i right im saying if you count the baby heartbeat it should be 130bmp+ as all i can get is about 100bmp

Im really confused

Sounds like your own heart beat. The babies should be about 160 - 180ish. I never got a doppler though so not sure of the best way to find your LO's heartbeat. I'm sure one of the other girls will be able to advise you thou. Don't panic if you can't find it, could be your LO is lying in a funny position.

A hundred would be too low for baby I reckon. Mine was 165 beats the first time I found it.

Don't worry though because some people don't find it until around 15 weeks although some find it at 10.

I would find mine very low down, around my bikini line and sometimes slightly lower than that. As soon as you hear it you'll know its baby. :)

Hiya!

Thats probably yours (this is what happened to me) put your fingers on your pulse (the neck is usually a good one) and see if its the same rhytham as what you are listening to. Babies should be over 160 (my babies was 175 the first time).

Dont panic if you dont find it.. it can take a bit of practice.

I've never counted the beats and dont know the technical side of things but you would'nt mistake it when you found it. It sounds like a train, or galloping horses.

Like charmed said, its a lot lower down then people expect. Try it over your pubic hair line maybe even lower. and its not always in the middle i get mine better on the left side but keep it low down and try all that area. You might hear the wooshing of the placenta as well, i've always fround baby hb is never far away.

Also dont just rest it on the skin its ok to push down a bit on it. it wont do you any harm to gently push down and give it a moment. Baby might even come and find you :)

:)

I have to disagree there.. i was listening to mine for a month! lol.. it was only when someone else on here did the same thing that i realised! Its strange where you can actually find your own heartbeat!

I think it depends on what doppler you're using as well. Some of them, you cant find till you'r alot further along. I've bought a bf500 from ebay and have been finding baby's heartbeat for a few weeks now, and only takes me a few seconds to find.
But i think it does depend on what one you're using..
xx :D
