Baby carrier/sling recommendations?

Hi all. I was going to post this in the chat section but I'll give it a go here.

Im having a summer baby this time and I'm gonna try this whole baby wearing thing. Can anyone recommend a sling or baby carrier? Dd had a baby carrier I'm sure I paid a fair whack for it and it was shit. She hated it, I hated it, oh hated it. She was also a winter baby though. I wish I could remember the make.

So yeah, Any slings or carriers suitable for newborn would be great. Dd is 3 but I feel like I've forgotten everything !

What on earth is a sling library? I think Im leading towards wrapping too. Ive seen so many women this summer doing it. Ill check that ergo out thanks x

Definitely head to a sling library! I use a close caboo in the early months, then have an ergo then move on to a toddler tula. I might try the stretchy wrap this time but I love the convenience of the caboo!

A stretchy wrap sling is just the best and I'd definitely use that at first. When my wee one grew out of that I headed to my local sling library and settled on a connecta, which I'm still using at 14 months.

I tried out a few at the local sling library and after hiring a couple I've bought a second hand connecta. He really didn't like the first two we hired so I'm pleased I hadn't bought them. Is worth looking into if there is a library near you. If there isn't there are a couple of online places that hire, but it is useful to be shown in person how to put them on and adjust etc.

Thanks Im looking into the sling library. I think we have one. So I will definitely be checking that out as Id like to find a good one for summer. DD was a january baby and she hated hers which put me off since it was so expensive. x

The Boba wrap is great for newborns, I’m using mine at the moment loads with 3 week old. Once she’s a bit bigger will move her to a connecta carrier as don’t find the stretchy wraps great for bigger babies. Baby wearing is fab if you have other kids as frees up your hands.

I'm completely unsure about baby wearing in the summer. I thought it would be easier but apparently it's hotter, sweater etc? So I definitely need the right type of sling or wrap. Interesting to see if any of you used anything with a new baby born in the summer? Xx

I used a close caboo in the early days and I’ve recently just got a lillebaby seat me which convenience wise is amazing x
